Honestly, Gino - it's pretty lame and laughable how our toothless and pathetic Labour government are trying to emulate the Dems in America. I am not attempting to be condescending - it just is what it is. We are very different people with a very different history. A much older history. The UK is the cookie jar that a lot of Americans originated from. The American people are young compared to the UK lot. Idealistic and full of dreams. The American Dream. A new beginning with bags of hope. In Britain, we are taught British / European history. The bloodthirsty history of Kings and Queens - warring royal houses - the blood link between all the royal houses throughout Europe - including Russia. How the royal families are all related etc. We never experienced the time and space of American idealism. Instead, we are a wary bunch. Way more cynical. Very aware of corruption and power.
The British people are also very generous and patient. Charitable and giving. Which is why this 'boat people' charade has gone on for so long. This has now come to an end. I genuinely cannot see this current Labour government lasting much longer. Watch this space!
