"Luke 13 and 2000 years"

Luke 13 and 2000 years

Hi John and Doves,

As an aside, our family here in Australia just all had covid, but it was more like a mild cold, so hopefully
that is the case elsewhere and it is not so bad. 2 people tested positive with the nose home tests, the other
2 very mild with almost no symptoms worth testing. Seems easier to catch than other colds though. We also all
succumbed to the pressure and all had about 3 pfizer jabs each, though I was reluctant, but it doesn't seem to
have done anything good or bad.. yet.. and almost every single person I know here in Sydney got covid, and as
far as I know all got over it OK. The version we had 18 months ago though was brutal. 4 days of really sick.

So, the feast of trumpets 2023 has passed and nothing happened. I was surprised and sad, and have tried to "get on
with my life with plan B", but as I asked God for help in focusing on other things and forging ahead, I ended up
straight into Luke 13, and like an itch that I just need to scratch, I can't shake the "2000 years/6000 years" thing.

From the Talmud quote
JEWISH WRITINGS from oral traditions before Jesus time.
'It was taught in the school of Elijah: The world will endure 6000 years -- 2,000 years in chaos, 2,000 years with Torah, and 2,000 years will be the days of the Messiah' ('Talmud,' Sanh.97a).
The Tanna debe Eliyyahu teaches: The world is to exist six thousand years. In the first two thousand there was desolation;  two thousand years the Torah flourished; and the next two thousand years is the Messianic era (Babylonian Talmud: Sanhedrin 97a).

EPISTLE OF BARNABAS
Of the Sabbath He speaketh in the beginning of the creation; And God made the works of His hands in six days, and He ended on the seventh day, and rested on it, and He hallowed it. Give heed, children, what this meaneth; He ended in six days. He meaneth this, that in six thousand years the Lord shall bring all things to an end; for the day with Him signifyeth a thousand years; and this He himself beareth me witness, saying; Behold, the day of the Lord shall be as a thousand years. Therefore, children, in six days, that is in six thousand years, everything shall come to an end. And He rested on the seventh day. this He meaneth; when His Son shall come, and shall abolish the time of the Lawless One, and shall judge the ungodly, and shall change the sun and the moon and the stars, then shall he truly rest on the seventh day (Epistle of Barnabas, 15:1-5).(Written 70-132AD)

So, lets look at Luke 13.
Where I was led when I was trying to take my mind away from the end times thinking...

And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course.
Luke 13:32 ESV

Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’
Luke 13:33 ESV

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!  Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
Luke 13:34‭-‬35 ESV

As I read the above pieces, it seems to me that possibly Jesus is saying "today and tommorow"... possibly meaning that the 2000 years started at the start of Jesus ministry.

So, I looked again at the dates. Was Jesus ministry the 26 to 30AD? or the 29 to 33AD? Which seem to be the 2 favourites and both are suggested in different of my bibles.

Looking at it again, it seems to me that 26 to 30 AD seems the most likely.
Strangely, in looking at one christian website, they had one article saying "jesus was born in 5BC" and another saying "Jesus died in 33AD" - um... can't they be consistent?

This site seems to make sense.

https://reasonabletheology.org/year-jesus-actually-born/
many scholars say Jesus was born between 5 and 6 B.C.
he 15th year of the reign of Tiberius, which began when he became co-emperor with Augustus in A.D. 11.[2]
That would place the 15th year of his reign at A.D. 26, which helps us understand when John began his ministry.
Jesus’ death and resurrection occurred around A.D 29-30.

So.... if that makes sense, rather then "the date I want it to be because I just want to escape this world",,, then if Jesus Ministry
started in October 26AD, and he says in Luke 13 that "his 2 days work"... seems to start then, then the end of the 2000 years should be
October 2026

So writing this in Sept 2023, and trying to look at it logically, it would seem to me that if Daniel 9 points to either 7 years or 3.5 years,
then the dates to look for would be either

7 years before Oct 2026 which is Oct 2019, obviously way in the past.
3.5 years before Oct 2026 which is March 2023, also in the past...

What else do we have.
688+ 1260 = 1948
688 + 1335 = 2023
1948 to 2023 = 75
1948 to 2026 = 78

Why are we still here???

Lets look again at Luke 13

And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course.
Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’

What is left?
We are still here, so does that mean that the 2000 years calcs are wrong? Maybe
Is the rapture instead Mid the 7 years? Even that is past... but maybe.
Is the rapture instead later than either 7 or 3.5 and the focus is on Jerusalem "you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
Or are we in the 7 years, and we didn't see the start of it?
Or.. having just gone to Zechariah 4, and the 2 branches of the Olive tree, maybe Jesus is waiting for Jerusalem to call out "Blessed", and then the full Olive tree of Gentiles and Jewish believers get called up before a shorter wrath.

Please come Lord Jesus!!!

Daniel 9...
2in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel,
understood from the Scriptures,
according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the
desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.
3So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition,
in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.

Please come Lord Jesus!!!
