"Can we also experience that sorrow like the LORD’s sorrow?"

II Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

(Can we also experience that sorrow like the LORD’s sorrow, when we have sinned against him? Can we have godly sorrow?)

Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

(Can we have godly sorrow?   Yes, absolutely!   So, what is that godly sorrow like?)

Psalms 6:6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
  7a Mine eye is consumed because of grief;

Psalms 31:9s Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief,

29a But I am poor and sorrowful:

Psalms 73:21a Thus my heart was grieved,

Psalms 88:9 Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.

Psalms 119:136 Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.

Proverbs 15:13b  but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Ecclesiastes 7:3b  for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

Matthew 26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Luke 7:38a And stood at his feet behind him weeping,

James 4:9a Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep:

(Like those who sighed and cried for the abominations, Lot also vexed his soul, and was called godly – this is godly sorrow:)

Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

II Peter 2:7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
