"From a friend's notes on a Wednesday night Bible study..."

Hello, John and Doves,

From a friend's notes on a Wednesday night Bible study...

Attributes of God:

1)                  1) “There is no one holy like the LORD, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God. Boast no more so very proudly, Do not let     arrogance come out of your mouth; For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And with Him actions are weighed. 1 Samuel 2:2-3 (from Hannah’s prayer)

Conclusion: God knows everything.

2)                  2) "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”  Jeremiah 32:17

Conclusion: God is capable of everything.

       3) “Where can I go from your Spirit?

           Where can I flee from your presence?

           If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light become night around me,”

even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.” Psalm 139: 7-12

Conclusion: God is omnipresent. He is everywhere.  We cannot hide from him.

4)    “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” Numbers 23:19

Conclusion: God does not lie.   He is all truth.

5)   "I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed”  Malachi 3:6

Conclusion:  God does not change.

*  When we pray,  we pray in faith to “who God is”. He is a God who is all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent, truthful and does not lie, and a God who does not change.

~Blessings,

Mike
