I often think of poor Lot. God told Abraham of His coming judgement on Sodom. I am not Abraham who negotiated down to ten righteous to spare a city. Lot lived among a population that as he went about his official job told him who was he to judge them and tell them what was right. Lot was sorely vexed most of the time. Lot tried to walk in the faith of His God. He tried to warn others without honor or respect. His righteousness was not his own thought as they murmured equal to their beliefs.

When the angels came to warn Lot the men of the city came upon them seeking to know them. Lot offered his own virgin daughters in a vain attempt to protect them by his own means. A humanly flawed attempt to be righteous. The angels blinded them so they could not find the door. A parallel to those walking in the darkness cannot find the door Jesus in the light. They must admit to the darkness of this world and their flesh to have the Light.

Look at John:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

The condemnation of the world is that people don't want to acknowledge Gods authority over the moral conduct of their existence because they
Love the lie of this world. They are focused on here.

The word says they believe everything continues from the beginning to now forgetting the ark and eight souls saved or the fate of Sodom.

The bible truly states we are all born lost apart from the covenants without hope but made reconciled to God through the way the truth and the light Jesus.

But there is a problem in the end times Lacadonian church. Jesus spits them out of his mouth. You see the church traded worldly wealth for Lots seat. The church is not warning of the times. For fear of empty pews it has in large part abandoned preaching biblical standards of righteousness. It is true the sinner comes to the mercy seat without anything to offer.

But faith is to through accepting Gods supremacy and rejecting our own and the worlds produce fruit unto righteousness. The bible says fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. KJV Ecclesiastes says: 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

But I actually heard a youth minister in my former church say I am thankful to be free of that old Baptist fire and brimstone preaching. Translation the true great commission.

Read: KJV 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Verse twenty is being cut out! Jesus says the end times church is lukewarm having the appearance of godliness without acknowledging the power of God. They are trying to worship God with tradition, substituting doctrine for scripture, doing good works but not teaching to fear God and obey Him.  Believe on means trust Jesus words to believe unto doing.

It means for me not recently not gambling on winning an ATV, not drinking to intoxication when others on a kayak trip did, it means asking Jesus spirit by His word abiding in me. It means when I am led to warn like Lot even though I find no honor.

Lot tried to warn his married daughters but heeding their husbands mocking they laughed.

Leaving Lots wife looked back and we all know the story there.

I cannot but lie in my bed and awe at God and tremble. For not because I am anything but because I am so much not I sense His thoughts are not ours and ways are not ours. He is not up there going good John scored a goal at the soccer game today. Or whatever we think important.

He is up there calling many and choosing the few who realize the helpless state they are in and turn and rend their heart and come to His mercy seat on His terms. The bible is a proof we cannot be righteous through rules, a terms of surrender document outlining only a judicial pardon for someone else taking our punishment will suffice, and an instruction and survival manual on how we must follow Jesus words to abide in them to inherit eternal life. Jesus pardons He saves. We are bought with a price not to live this life but to walk in spirit the next as we exist here.

Lot warned, he watched, he was vexed, he imperfectly tried to honor God, he feared to listen and obeyed not looking back. He was led from wrath to pasture set free by a righteous God.

I tremble in fear of how easily we are distracted running to and fro knowledge increasing greatly. Seal up the words of the book Daniel for such a generation were they written. We are at the hour. The church as a whole is not watching, warning or seeing because as has been said fear is the beginning of wisdom.

Once fear gives birth to wisdom which leads to repentance unto obedience in spirit and desire to abide under Jesus wings then perfect love abolishes fear to supplant a spirit that obeys God out of love and cries Abba Father.

Time is short. I am not worthy to tie Lots shoes. But I have felt Gods word convicting me that He is coming and we better be waiting to go.
