"RE: Miriam Howard: 09.16.13: 1st ½ of Daniel’s 70th week"

Miriam,

That was very well done, and I enjoyed reading your study very much.

Yet I still cannot 100% accept that Jesus fulfilled the 1st ½ of Daniel’s 70th week.

In my mind that would end up confusing Jesus with the antichrist.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

For Jesus to have fulfilled the 1st half of the week, then he would have been the one who would have had to confirm the covenant for one week.

That would have had to have been the old covenant.

But by the midst of that week, 3 ½ years later, they rejected him, and delivered him to Pilate to be crucified.
However, since it was his plan all along, they brought his plan to pass.

Then by his blood sacrifice on the cross, he then forever did away with the old covenant sacrifices.

Then like in the wilderness, he was patient with that generation for 40 years.

But after 40 years, they were still rejecting him, persecuting disciples, and continuing to offer the old sacrifices, which in light of his sacrifice, were abominable.

Then after 40 years, that generation died, when the Romans destroyed the city and desolated the sanctuary.

So, the he in Daniel 9:27 is either Jesus or the antichrist.

And we are not in very good shape today, when struggle, even a little, at trying to tell the difference between Jesus and the antichrist.

At this point we really should know better, but alas, most of us are still babes.

This indictment I bring also against myself.
