There was some military "expert" (general?) interviewed the other day.

He was making the point that Israel cannot allow Gaza to continue.

He went on to say that the same thing was realized for Dresden, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki.

Then he brought up how general Grant sent general Sherman to burn Atlanta.

And completed his comparison with what Rome did to Carthage.

I was horrified that he held up this legacy as a good thing.

If one of my relatives was being held hostage, or brutally murdered, by Hamas, no doubt I would be thinking differently.

By the grace of God, that's not the case for me, at this time.

As a Christian, I don't think I should be hoping that thousands of lost people in Gaza, suddenly go to hell, over the next few days.

Nor do I think that I should be glad when it happens.

Most likely it will happen, and Israel needs to defend itself against barbaric murderers.

I just don't think that I should rejoice when it does happen, though I'm tempted to do just that.
