"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily [secretly] shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction," 2 Peter 2:1.
"And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time......," 2 Peter 2:13.
Introduction
Here is one of the "signs" of the end-time, which is commonly overlooked and rarely mentioned by prophecy teachers.  Yet as I write, the streets of the cities of America are filled with people marching, demonstrating, fighting, and "rioting."
And this is what this study is about!  Those readers who are interested in what is happening in the streets of America, and I am sure in other countries also, should just keep reading.......
Rioting
This subject is specifically mentioned seven times in God's inspired Word, and always in a bad or negative sense.  Here is a list of the seven inspired Scriptures that deal with this subject.......
Proverbs 23:20
                                                                            28:7
                                                        Luke          15:13
                                                        Romans   13:13
                                                        Titus            1:6
                                                        1 Peter        4:4
                                                        2 Peter        2:13
As I write, for several weeks thousands of people have been marching, demonstrating, carrying signs, making speeches, screaming, yelling, cursing, and spewing out their hatred and evil, getting drunk, taking or snorting drugs,  fighting, and "rioting."  Over what? Supposedly over confirming, or not confirming, a certain man to serve as a Justice on the Supreme Court here in America.  Wickedness!
Oh, yes it is!  How do I know?  Because the inspired Word of God clearly instructs God's people,  "Be not among winebibbers, among riotous eaters of flesh:
For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall cloth a man with rags," Proverbs 23:20-21.
This inspired description exactly fits most of these people who are taking part in these so-called "marches" and "demonstrations."  Look closely at the faces of these people you see on your TV, who are out in the streets of America, protesting and marching.   Most of them are not there to really protest anything.  Look at their faces.  All except their main leaders are smiling, joking, laughing, eating and drinking, and having a great time. It appears like they are at a party, and really enjoying themselves.  They are obviously there for the "fun" of being a part of the huge crowd of "demonstrators."  Isn't this exactly what God's Word says, ".....they count it pleasure to riot in the day time," 2 Peter 2:13.
The True Source
These marches and demonstrations, which often turn into full blown "riots," resulting in the arrest of some of the so-called "demonstrators,"  or even into outright fighting with police to keep from being arrested,   do not just happen.  Rather, they are well planned in advance by those leading them, or by wicked men working behind the scenes, who are never seen in public.
I know whereof I speak.  I am now an old man.   I lived through the so-called "civil rights" movement.  The public leader of that movement, Martin Luther King, Jr., repeatedly made speeches calling for "peaceful" demonstrations by  his devoted followers.  Yet in every city where he went to make a speech promoting "civil rights", riots broke out.  The glasses in store fronts were broken out, and the stores of "white" people, and sometimes even black people, were looted.  Many times stores and other buildings were deliberately set on fire, while the "peaceful" demonstrators made their escapes.   Of course, the public was expected to "feel sorry" for the poor people who felt "forced" to resort to such violence in order to gain their civil rights.
Folks, Almighty God never forces anyone to do that which is evil!  Read Romans 12:17-21.   In fact, God's Word repeatedly tells all people to refrain from doing evil, and just to seek Him and His "righteousness," and their needs will be met, Matthew 6:31-33.  The Lord God pours out His blessings, and provides for His people, regardless of the color of their skin.  All any true believer has to do is come to the Lord, in humble, sincere prayer and ask, and their "needs" [not their wants] will be met.   Hello!
 Instructions for True Believers
In Proverbs 28:7, God's inspired Word tells us, "Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son; but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father."
In Luke 15:11-32, the Lord Jesus gave the parable of The Two Sons.  In that parable the younger son demanded his share of his father's property, which he was ultimately to inherit.  Apparently, because his father loved him, he was given his inheritance, in advance of his father's decease.  And what did this younger demanding son do with his inheritance?  The Lord described the actions of this son, by saying,  "And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living," 15:13.
This is exactly what we see today with these people who are always protesting something, marching and demonstrating, and rioting.  They have nothing better to do with their time, so they join the "party" that is going on in the streets.  God have mercy!
I hope that none of our readers are taking part in such riotous living, for it is directly contrary to the inspired Word of God.  In Romans 13:13, God's people are explicitly told, "Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkeness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying."
Today we see many of these marches and protests, being led by "pastors" of various churches, who claim to be "men of God."  Pardon me while I barf!
In the inspired qualifications for a man to serve as a pastor and spiritual leader of one of the Lord's churches, in Titus 1:6, we read, "If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly...."  Folks, this is included as part of the qualifications for a man to serve as a pastor or spiritual leader of God's people.  Need I say more?
But if one dares to point out the folly and sin, involved in such  marches and demonstrations as we see going on right now in the streets of America, we are the people who are despised for taking a stand against such wickedness. Read it for yourself!  "Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot,  speaking evil of you," 1 Peter 4:4.
An Inspired Description
But what kind of people are these who so eagerly pour out into the streets to protest, and demand their "rights" about anything and everything?  A full detailed description of them is given in 2 Peter 2:1-22, which includes our text Scripture for this study, 2 Peter 2:13.
Conclusion
Dear reader, are you a true believer?  Do you have the assurance of the Holy Spirit of God that you have been truly saved?  I hope every reader of this study has that assurance.
If the reader has such assurance, then never, never, never be guilty of taking part in such riots as we see occurring in the streets of America today!  Live to please and honor the Lord Jesus, and His Word, rather than  what happens to be popular with the unbelieving world at any given minute.
And may the Lord God place His grace upon this study, and bless it to the hearts and minds of His people.  I want to meet every reader in glory real SOON.  Don't disappoint me!
