"Harold (4 Oct 2015) "RE: Ron Reese, 17th day month 2""

    Hello Ron,
not ment to discourage, but truth matters. In the time (I think up to babylonian exile) the 2nd month was in spring, according to god’s original calendar (at the time of the flood there was no „civil year“). See http://www.biblicalcalendarproof.com/HebrewCalendar/NoahsFlood for explanation… So Noahs flood was on 17. of Lyar. Thanks for your great letters!

    Blessings, Harold
    --------------------------------

    Hi:

As I understand it, Noah entered the Ark and the Lord closed the door on Cheshvan 17, 1656 AH, the year of man, not on Iyar 17.

Gen 7:11 says, “In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Gen 7:12 says, “And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.”

The second month was Cheshvan at that time. The Hebrew Civil Calendar was in use. Nisan was not the first month until Exo 12:2.

Exo_12:1-3 says, “And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month (i.e., Nisan, the month of the Passover) shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. 3  Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house”.

Lev_23:5 says, “In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.”

Therefore, Noah entered the Ark, and the Lord closed the door, on Cheshvan 17.

Gen 8:14-16 says, “in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month (i.e., Cheshvan 21), was the earth dried. 15  And God spake unto Noah, saying, 16  Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.”

So Noah was in the Ark one year and four days.
