Just thought this was interesting. In Daniel 9:27, the KJV reads like this:
And he shall confirm ¹³⁹⁶ the covenant ¹²⁸⁵ with many ⁷²²⁷ for one ²⁵⁹ week ⁷⁶²⁰: and in the midst ²⁶⁷⁷ of the week ⁷⁶²⁰ he shall cause the sacrifice ²⁰⁷⁷ and the oblation ⁴⁵⁰³ to cease ⁷⁶⁷³ ...

When I looked up the word "sacrifice", the word is "zebach" and one of the definitions of this word is "thank offering".
When I looked up the word "oblation", the word is "minchah" and the MAIN usage of this word is "gift, tribute, present".
When I looked up the word "cease", the word is "shabath" and it means to cease, to cause to fail, to put an end to

So this part of the verse could read like this: he shall cause the "thank offering" and the "gift" to cease. Or, he will put an end to, or cause to fail, the "thank offering" and the "gift".

Does this sound like it could be talking about Thanksgiving and Christmas? So many Christians around the world (and even unbelievers) take the time to make a "thank offering" to the Lord on Thanksgiving, at the end of November. They bow their heads in prayer, thanking the Lord for the many blessings He has given to them. Again, this is done by Christians and non-Christians alike. I have many relatives who are not believers, and yet they bow their heads on Thanksgiving before the meal and thank God for His blessings in their life. And if there is anytime that "gifts" are given, it's Christmas time around the world.

If something were to take place before Thanksgiving that included the Rapture and "alien invasion" and martial law, etc., would Thanksgiving and Christmas still be celebrated? Possibly on a small scale, but likely not at all. Remember Obama's words to his "conspiracy-oriented friends"?

"Now, if I do win a second term as President, let me just say something to all my conspiracy-oriented friends on the right who think I'm planning to unleash some secret agenda: You're absolutely right. So allow me to close with a quick preview of the secret agenda you can expect in a second Obama administration. In my first term, we ended the war in Iraq; in my second term, I will win the war on Christmas. In my first term, we repealed the policy known as "don't ask, don't tell"- in my second term, we will replace it with a policy known as, it's raining men.  In my first term, we passed health care reform; in my second term, I guess I'll pass it again.

Here are some of the words to "It's Raining Men":
Cause' tonight for the first time
Just about half past ten
For the first time in history
It's gonna start raining men

God bless Mother Nature
She's a single woman too
She took over heaven
And she did what she had to do

She fought every Angel
To rearrange the sky...

This sounds like an alien invasion and it sounds like Obama is telling us that it will come before Christmas. And if the Scripture is pointing to "Thanksgiving and Christmas", then we would certainly be looking for something to happen before Thanksgiving.
