Mother of abominations of the earth.

Most of my life, I kind of stopped on the phrase, "mother of harlots", and thought about mostly that.

However, the thought about her also being the mother of abominations of the earth is very heavy.

If these are the last days, then what are the abominations of the earth?

Not what's wrong with society, but what are those abominations?

And not only the abominations of one place, but the abominations of the earth.

So, when the mother of the abominations of the earth is judged in one hour, those in heaven praise the LORD:

Revelation 18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Revelation 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

  2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

  3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

  4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

  5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

  6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

This great response of worshipping the LORD at her judgment, is not repeated when the antichrist and false prophet are cast into the lake of fire.

Neither is it repeated when the devil is cast into the lake of fire.

But, it is only when she is judged.

In heaven there is joy and worship when she is judged, but on earth, there is mourning by kings and merchants:

Revelation 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

  10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

  11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

No mention of the abominations by them, only of what they had with her, why?

Revelation 18:23c  for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

Are they simply deceived like everyone else?

It mentions kings, merchants and shipmasters mourning, but what about all the other people on the earth?

At that time, won't most of the people on the earth be worshipping the antichrist?

So, what will they think about her judgment?

Will they be for it? against it?  indifferent towards it?

Has she unwittingly, by her abominations and sorceries, prepared the people of the earth to be in such a state, as to be so willing to worship the antichrist?
