North Korea tests long-range ballistic missile days before U.S. electionThen on October 31, 2024: "Some 8,000 North Korean soldiers are now in Russia near Ukraine's border and are preparing to help the Kremlin fight against Ukrainian troops in the coming days, the Biden administration said Thursday...The U.S. has estimated a total of about 10,000 North Korea troops are in Russia."Blinken said he expects these troops to be in combat with Ukrainian solders "in the coming days.""The Russia-North Korea partnership may resound far beyond Europe and Asia...North Korea has never recognized Israel and long supported forces opposed to it." NK sent troops and advisers to help the Arab coalition in the 1963 Yom Kippur War. NK provided arms to the PLO in its war with Israel in the 1970s. And North Korean weapons have "ended up in the hands of various factions of the Iran-aligned Axis of Resistance"..including Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.North Korea, Russia and China has been "expanding collaboration with Iran" for years now.The North Korea military has an estimated 1.3 million active personnel - it follows China and the U.S. in size. NK "has about 600,000 reservists and 5.7 million Worker/Peasant Red Guard reservists, among many armed units. The NK military consists of an army, air force, navy and strategic forces, which are armed with ballistic missiles that can be equipped with nuclear warheads." It is "one of the most militarized societies in the world and all men between the ages of 17 and 30 must enlist for military service lasting between 3 and 12 years....It has built a number of missiles that it says can be tipped with nuclear bombs, ranging from short-range tactical weapons to huge intercontinental ballistic missiles with the potential range to reach anywhere in the United States."North Korea has a "huge amount of conventional military equipment, though much is ageing and outdated.
