"simultaneously"

Deuteronomy 4:33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

(The LORD was simultaneously both in heaven and on earth at the same time.

The LORD spoke from heaven, and he spoke on earth from the fire, at the same time.)

39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

(A thousand years later, it was still remembered that the LORD had spoken both on earth and from heaven, at the same time:)

Nehemiah 9:13 Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:

(The LORD set the pattern of his being simultaneously in heaven and on earth, at the very beginning:)

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

(And though the LORD was still in heaven, yet he simultaneously came down to speak with Moses:)

Exodus 33:9 And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.

10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.

11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

(The LORD in heaven would speak from the mercy seat, on earth:)

Exodus 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

Numbers 7:89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.

(The LORD is omnipresent:)

Psalms 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

(Even while speaking with Nicodemus, Jesus said that he was also simultaneously in heaven:)

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Proverbs 30:4 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

(By his being omnipresent, Jesus is not only in heaven, but we can enjoy the fellowship of his presence, here with us, right now:)

Jeremiah 23:23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?

24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

(Jesus speaks both in heaven and on earth at the same time, and his word is thus the same way:)

Psalms 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Deuteronomy 32:1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

Psalms 147:15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

Jeremiah 22:29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

Psalms 68:11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

(And although his word is in heaven, we don't need to go up there to find it, nor to ancient lands and languages to find it:)

Deuteronomy 30:11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

(But since we have the entire word of God in our hand, and they initially only heard the voice, we need to take heed even more:)

Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

(Some angels and watchers spoke at times from heaven, in the old testament, but always spoke of the LORD in the third person.

But Jesus, before his incarnation, speaking as the angel of the LORD, spoke of himself, as the LORD, in the first person.

The LORD, thus, first spoke from heaven, when Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only son for the LORD:)

Genesis 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

  18a And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

(But, the very next time speaking from heaven, it was the Father, identifying his only Son, whom he would sacrifice for us:)

Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

(And in the account of the transfiguration, we can see where the Father spoke like that, again:)

Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

(Then just after the raising of Lazarus, and shortly before the crucifixion, the Father spoke like that, again:)

John 12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

(The final three times that Jesus speaks from heaven, is in to call people up with him:)

I Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Revelation 11:12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

(Knowing all this, we can be encouraged that our omnipresent Redeemer works continuously in heaven and on earth, at the same time.

The LORD, himself, bears record in heaven, because he is simultaneously the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:)

I John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

(And simultaneously bearing witness on earth, by his Spirit:)

8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

(We can therefore be encouraged by the LORD's simultaneous intercession.

Here, on earth, the Holy Ghost, who is given unto us, intercedes on our behalf, according to the will of the Father:)

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

(And yet, simultaneously in heaven, Jesus intercedes on our behalf, to the Father:)

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
