THE MEANING OF THE WORDS   "TO ANOINT".........

The meaning of the words  " to anoint" includes 'to bless' or 'to honor' someone as it is used in the following Scriptures :

Luke 7:46

' My head with oil thou did not anoint,  but this woman has anointed My feet with oil."

Daniel 9:24

"SEVENTY WEEKS  are determined UPON  THY PEOPLE ( the Hebrew people )......and TO ANOINT THE MOST HOLY."  ( "TO ANOINT" , ie. honor Jesus Christ  as "THE MOST HOLY" )

When the Hebrew people of Israel finally "ANOINT THE MOST HOLY " by their blessing or honoring Jesus Christ AS THEIR MESSIAH, that will end the 70th week of Daniel. 

God, Himself, will accomplish that event according to:

Hebrews 8:10

"For  this is the covenant that I will make with the House of Israel AFTER  THOSE DAYS, ( after the days of the Great Tribulation ) saith the Lord, I will put My laws into their minds and write them into their hearts , and I will be to them their God and they shall be to Me My people."

SO, THERE YOU HAVE IT :

God will end the seventy weeks of Daniel , i.e., end the 3 1/2 year last-half of the 70th week of Daniel, which is the Great Tribulation , with a new covenant with Israel whereby God will input into their minds and in to their hearts "TO ANOINT" Jesus Christ as their Most Holy Messiah.
