In reply to your 11/21 post a reflection of his character? (fivedoves.com) I do believe that the name the Beast for the Antichrist is a reflection of his cruel, & brutal character because he is going to have the people beheaded who will not worship him nor his image.

The Greek word for beast is "therion" which means wild beast.

It is also interesting to note that the name Dragon in Greek is spelled Drakon from which we derive the English word "draconian" which can also mean cruel, brutal, harsh & severe, oppressive & ruthless.  The Dragon gives the Beast his power, his seat & his great authority according to Rev. 13:2.
