"For Rene re: relatives and rapture"

Dear Rene,

Great posts as always. For me, at this point, I would just like to have beloved relatives still believing in Jesus. I have a very beloved cousin who was raised in the catholic church. He is no longer in it (that part’s good), but sadly no longer even believes in our Lord and thinks the Bible is false. He says he believes “something is out there”…but that is not the same as believing in Jesus and being saved.

I have tried to tell him about my dreams of tsunamis (he lives on the coast), but he doesn’t want to hear any of it and says “surprise me”. Well, being surprised by a tsunami will be too late...especially if you live in a very populated metro area on the coast. There would be no way to evacuate in time where he lives.

In his and his wife’s case, they both have great jobs and inherited much money from both sets of parents. They go on numerous trips and have a “great life”. Their house was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, but they have such great resources they rebuilt the whole thing already and could afford to wait for reimbursements from fema.

I have come to the conclusion that people like this (especially those who actually still believe in the Lord) really don’t want Him showing up any time soon….as difficult as that is for us on Five Doves to comprehend. They have riches and are having a “fun” existence and don’t want it to stop any time soon. Who knows what Jesus is going to require of them…?

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." -1st John 2:15-17

All we can do is keep praying for these relatives and friends and maybe leave some ‘left behind letters’ for them to hopefully discover. It would be great if they would just listen to us now when we try to witness to them, but they won’t. It’s important to tell them not to take the mark…they probably won’t know what that is.

YsiChrist,

Patty RP
