Thank you for a most interesting letter!  You asked the question: "what causes the earth to rotate faster?".  I believe I have the answer for you:  "A Great Earthquake".

Now, the earthquakes mentioned in the above link say that these individual earthquakes shortened the day by 'microseconds'.  But....what if a bunch of earthquakes, say 10+ magnitude, happened all over the earth on the very same day?  Also, after the Great Earthquake of Revelation 6:12, there will still be continuing earthquakes as well.

There would have to be lots of extremely powerful and continuing earthquakes to shorten the days by 8 hours or more...but it looks like that would be the case.  The pole shift and tsunamis would also play a significant part.
