I've had a thought over the weekend about the second half of Daniel 9:27.

 

Seeing as the Millennial Temple is not yet started, and seeing that we are close to the midpoint of Daniel's 70th week, there appears to be next to no time for the Temple to be built--or any significant part thereof--in order to allow certain conservative estimates of the meaning of the phrase, "wing of abominations" to occur.

 

If, however, one considers that "wing" may be an architectural term, then we observe that the temple could be built to regulation alongside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.  What would be the fate of the Dome of the Rock is anyone's guess.

 

My guess is that the "abomination that causes desolation" could be some event called as such from the point of view of the Muslims of the world.  What would happen if the AC declared that Jews were now allowed on the Temple Mount--which Israel has controlled since the last Jubilee?  I would hazard a guess that the Muslims would stay away in droves.

 

It is rumored that the exact location of the Holy of Holies is the Dome of the Rock--the only exposed untooled rock on the Temple Mount.  What do you know, but that the Dome of the Rock is also the site from where Mohammed is held by the Muslims to have ascended into heaven?

 

How could a good, God-fearing Muslim make a pilgrimage to a Holy site no longer held to be exclusively Muslim?

 

Methinks the AC will be assassinated by his own people, ironically.  Upon being possessed by Satan, the AC will then proclaim to the Muslims [who also revere the Jewish Scriptures] that he is the "stone that the builders rejected."

The truth is stranger than fiction.  Many of us Doves will be coming up with seemingly preposterous scenarios in these days that precede the Rapture, but God is hiding the truth in our writings in order to educate [Great] Tribulation believers in open-coded messages.

 

An open-coded message appears to be normal communication in every surface way, but its real meaning is clear only to the initiated [read:  Spirit-filled believers].

 

I am sure you have heard of the following:

Starfleet Regulation 46A: "If transmissions are being monitored during battle, no uncoded messages on an open channel."  [from the movie, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan]
