Hi Paul,  I asked your question of my 22 yr. retired Army hubby concerning the best time to bomb.  He said, "It is immaterial", since there is a whole different system in use now which is 'guided missiles' from the ground and the enemy has it's own radar system that can detect in-coming missiles."  He said, even when they used B-52's, they were so high that they weren't seen.
