God does not lie! God’s word is absolute truth. There appears a discrepancy between Daniel’s 7 years of the 70th week and Jesus that speaks of a shortened 70th week so that not all flesh would perish. So, which is correct? Both are correct because God does not lie.
The answer is that the 70th week of Daniel has a gap of 1000 years with the shortened days added to the end of the 1000 year reign of Jesus. Revelation 20:7,8 says; And when the thousand years are expired, satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth. This short time satan is released is the continuation of the 70th week of Daniel. To prove this I want to take a look at Daniel 9:24, Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Here we see at the end of the 70th week of Daniel, that it brings in ‘everlasting righteousness’! If the end of the 70th week was before the 1000 year reign of Christ, it could not usher in everlasting righteousness because satan will be loosed at the end of the 1000 years! So the end of the 70th week must also be the end of 7 days of creation or 7000 years, which will then usher in everlasting righteousness as stated in Daniel 9:24!
