"Had it become like a crucifix?"

Had Nehushtan become like a crucifix is to people today?

II Kings 18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

It is one thing to have, or wear, a cross.
But if there is a graven image on it, then is it something that we should not have?

Exodus 20:4a Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above,

Wouldn't, "any thing that is in heaven", include Jesus?
Graven images, even of Jesus, are still in violation of the 2nd commandment.
That includes graven images, or molten images, of Jesus on a cross, whether on the wall of our house, around our necks, or in our church.

We are no different than the children of Israel, susceptible to the same temptations.
