"re: Garry B - the rapture is not imminent-????"

Dear Garry,

I have seen in the social media today that so many people have ideas and are throwing them out there…without thinking things through.  I have done that myself and felt the remorse of not having all my “ducks in a row” and now I looked pretty shallow in my understanding.  I do want to place a bit of a caution to you in regards to your posting though.  Revelation 12 is very specific about events and the order that they happen.  Here is a brief excerpt:

Revelation 12:

5She gave birth to a son who was to rule all nations with an iron rod. And her child was snatched away from the dragon and was caught up to God and to his throne. 6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where God had prepared a place to care for her for 1,260 days.

7Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. 8And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven. 9This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.   (NLT)

The key word is at the start of Verse 7: Then…..  There is an order and progression.  To understand when the war happens, you have to understand when the woman gives birth and just where the 1260 days enter into this equation.

After the “dragon” looses the battle in heaven and is thrown down to the earth:

10Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens,

“It has come at last—

salvation and power

and the Kingdom of our God, (NLT)

What did Jesus come offering in the gospels:  "The kingdom of Heaven is at hand”.  Kingdoms always have to do with rulership and the rulership of/for Heaven was at hand, but the people couldn’t accept the type of rulership being offered.

There needed to be a replacement in the heavens of one rulership before another could take over.  The take over had to be accomplished by those who had been tested and tried thereby qualifying for those positions  ( see the example of David going through his testing period before being ready to take over from Saul).  God does not replace a ruler until there is another in line to take over.  Same thing happens in the heavens, Satans rulership there is not taken over until there are those that have qualified to take those positions- hense the offer of the Kingdom of Heaven to God’s chosen people.  They rejected the offer and what was being offered to them was given to another nation (body of Christ) that would bear the fruits necessary to accept the position- Matt. 21:43, I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation that will produce the proper fruit.
Those that are qualified are seen in Rev. 2,3 and are states as being “overcomes” and given tools to aid in rulership  (a eating of the Tree of Life, crown of Life, a new name, authority over nations, citizenship in the “city of my God” in the new creation,…)

All this to say that the rapture and qualification processes (Rev. 2,3) has to be completed prior to satan being thrown down to earth.

I realize that I am “throwing things out there” as well.  We are all trying to do what we think is right and unfortunately usually have elements where we still need to learn.  I included, so please feel free to correct or to add to what I have written.

Thanks,
Laurie
