Are these two lines speaking of the same thing?

II Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

By the way, why then are there prophecy teachers today who are trying to say that,

the falling away, is actually Christians "falling upwards" from the earth?

Isn't that what happened to Mr Big, when he refused to let go of the upsidasium from Bullwinkle's Mt Flatten?

Sorry, but isn't that what the "falling upwards" teaching seem to be like, a cartoon?
