Hello John and Doves,

We are now in the month of Sivan - it is the third month of the Biblical calendar.  It is called 'the month of revelation' and rabbis refer to this season as the "Season of Revelation".

This is the month the Jews commemorate the giving of the Torah (6 Sivan), and Christians celebrate the arrival of the Holy Spirit/the birth of the Church; this year, Pentecost Sunday is on 8 Sivan/May 31, 2020.

Sivan means "season" or "time".  It has a history of return to the Lord and acknowledging His ways - of rising up against the enemies of Yehovah and re-establishing the covenant with Him.

It is mentioned by name (Sivan) only one time in the Bible - Esther 8:9  The Hebrew letter associated with this month is the letter zayin (the letter vav with a crown attached to its head) with the numerical value of 7.  Zayin is about 'receiving mercy for completion'. The "third month" was named Sivan sometime after the Babylonian captivity, before that it was called 'the third month'.

Sivan is known for 'the giving of the Torah'.  On the 1st day of the third month, the Israelites arrived at Mount Sinai and camped at the foot of the mountain - Exodus 19:1 - it's here that Moses climbed Mount Sinai and received the Ten Commandments.

Sivan is our time of returning to the Lord, recommitting ourselves to Him; joining that righteous remnant that is faithfully awaiting His return and fighting His enemies as we wait.  This is our time to consecrate our lives to our God.  Because He is our God and we have returned to Him, He will defend us from evil, and give us joy and peace and bless us and reveal more of Himself to us.

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."  Isaiah 40:31

"Wait on the Lord:  be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart:  wait, I say, on the Lord."  Psalms 27:14

May this month of Sivan bring 'revelation' to His people and rededication to Him.  For the next month is the ominous month of Tammuz!
