Matthew 24:27-28

" For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles (vultures) will be gathered together."

 

Luke 17:37

"....Wherever the body is there the eagles (vultures) will be gathered together."

 

Ezekiel 39:4

".....I will give you to the birds of prey of every sort......to be devoured."

 

Ezekiel 39:11

"......because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude..."

 

              Bruce, all the nations that came down from the north...Assyria, Babylon, Persia and Greece even Rome originally.  In Genesis 10:2-5 we find that these nations were descended from Japheth who was one of the sons of Noah.  His sons were called the Gentiles.  All those names in Ezekiel are from his sons and grandsons. 

            God raised up Nebuchadnezzar to punish a disobedient people and it was given over to Nebuchadnezzar and his son and his son's son.  His son was Evil-Merodach, and his grandson was Belshazzar.  The Medes and the Persians were also from Japheth.  The Greeks were from Javan a son of Japheth.  They were defeated at Purim in the time of Esther and Mordecai. 

 

Ezekiel 39:11 "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog."

 

    That was as great a rescue as the Exodus by Moses.  Mordecai was given second place to the king as was Joseph in Egypt.

 

Esther 10:3 " For Mordecai, the Jew,  was next unto king Ahasuerus [Artaxerxes I], and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed."

 

Well, this is how I interpret these Scriptures.
