John and Doves,

While the media is having their "laugh-fest" over date setting, it is well to note that those outside of Biblical beliefs
have their trust in "cisterns that contain no water" ( Jeremiah 2: 13 )  : worldly goods, sport hooplas, entertainment, etc. All those things are merely bubbles, bangles and beads to pass the time until they die. Then what ?

We commend our brothers for their zeal ( Rev. 3: 15 b, ) and we very gently add: that to err on the side of caution is far better ( Rev. 22: 18 ) . 
We've been there, done that, and we humbly speak from our own experience.
We've learned our lesson : no more.

Keeping in mind how much we revere our dear brothers, it is good to review 2 Thessalonians  2 .
While date-setting is exhilarating and gives everyone a "rush " ( Doves board lit up "on the same page" ). But from what Book ? Are we quoting the Bible ? Here is what the Bible says:

2 Thessalonians 2: 3 ...

1. There will be no rapture until the "falling away" ( apostasy ) takes place.
Please see Mark Rouleau's letter and the split in churches over the ordination of gays .

and there will be no rapture until :

2. The man of sin ( the future antichrist ) will be revealed by SITTING in the temple as God.

Until those two events take place, it is too far out of the ballpark to configure, even with disclaimers.

Now a person can twist 2 Thessalonians 2:3  all to pieces until it "says" 180 degrees the opposite of what it simply says : no rapture until 2 things happen first.

Speaking to the Church at large :
If we would all submit to the authority of the Word and not twist 2 Thessalonians  2: 3  to say the opposite of what it says, we would avoid some of the censure from the world. 
Are our posts filled with Biblical Scripture ? If not, we wander.

" Hope deferred makes the heart sick " Provebs 13:12.

Enough said. Let's just keep on keeping on, and try to wait patiently for the Lord, shining brightly in this dark world with accuracy and truth. John 4: 23, 24. ( " they will know we are Christians by our love " )
