Dear Donna Danna (I can never miss an alliteration...sorry).....
For a reminder to you, you posted this today:
In reply to your 3/01 post at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/march2012/arlene31-2.htm in regards to how does God cleanse us by His Word, the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin; and if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Please read 1 John 1:5-10.
Donna....I re-read my post of 3/01 again. Nowhere in that post did I say anything about "cleansing from sin". I was talking about "washing by the water of the word" which is perfectly clear in Ephesians 5:26-27. Jesus paid our sin debt on the Cross, and He told us "It is finished"...John 19:30. It is now our responsibility to become MATURE members of the "body of Christ". We do this by READING and learning how we continue to become sanctified. Perhaps a good review for you might be II Timothy 2:15. There is a progression to salvation.....justification (done), sanctification (being done), and glorification (will be done).
YsiC,
Arlene
