In the gospels and the book of Acts, the devils appeared to be involved in doing things through people, primarily by possession.

They also were involved in afflicting people, which was physical and emotional affliction.

Perhaps some afflictions could have been like you described, to mess with people’s minds, though there is no specific accounts mentioned like your situation.

However, in the tribulation, those three unclean spirits go out doing miracles, to deceive the kings of the earth to go to Armageddon.

So, apparently, some devils can do things, even miraculous things, which would also allow for activities like you described.

Then, if that lavish, uber-wealthy, mystery, Babylon, that makes the merchants of the earth rich by her incredible consumer economy,

if she possibly could be, if this is the time, if she might actually be America, then it might shed some light on the situation:

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

She is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit.

The extent of their activity probably great exceeds the activity of the devils that were in Israel during the gospels.

So, if this is the case, now, here in America, then I wouldn’t be surprised at all that devils would be trying to afflict your mind this way.
