This is what Jesus said in Revelation 3 to the church at Sardis:“Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief and you will not know what hour (in the Greek: fixed schedule) I will come upon you.”Colossians 2: 16-17“Therefore let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.”It is widely held that the Tribulation ends on the Day of Atonement. This is the day Israel will look up in the Heavens and see Jesus returning with the Church. All Israel will believe and be saved. The Day of Atonement is one of the Fall Jewish Festivals that has not been fulfilled. Taking the 1,260 days backwards from that time will lead us to the Feast of Firstfruits in some years, including 2014 in particular.This is because the Jewish year is lunar based and adds leap months from time to time. In those years that support these dates, the times of Daniel flow seamlessly. The 1,335 days from Firstfruits lands three and a half years later on the third day of Hanukkah – the gift-giving day.Therefore, the calculations of Daniel point to the significance of the Jewish holidays of Firstfruits, Atonement, and Hanukkah. The time periods of Daniel can, in other words, fit only in certain years between these days.Let’s consider that if Armageddon also ends on the Day of Atonement 2017, it will also be on the Sabbath day for that year. This is appropriate since Christ is beginning the long awaited Sabbath Age of Rest on that day.The next possible year to work with the time sequence of Daniel and place the Day of Atonement on the Sabbath would be the year 2038. However, this exceeds the time of a generation (70 years from November of 1947, the time when the commandment to restore Israel was made).To have 1260 days between Firstfruits and Atonement, the day of Firstfruits has to occur on the 20th of Nisan.
