"Re: Gino " our relationship with the law after we are saved""

Thank you Gino for sharing your letter.
The first thing that came to my mind after reading it was this;
The words of our Lord Jesus Christ in the book of John.
SEVEN WORDS
But so very powerful, and the same words used by God to Moses for the children of Israel in the wilderness.
IF YOU LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS
which poses the question to us; What were his commandments? Not the book of the law, but his commandments.
Because we know that Christ IS the fulfillment of the Law,( the kingdom of heaven) and that the prophets and the Law were UNTIL John the Baptist, and that Christ is NOW all and IN all. We as born again believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, follow his commandments, " The new covenant " which is
1. Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
2. Love thy neighbor as thyself.

Matthew 22:40 KJV
On these TWO commandments HANG  [all] the Law [and] the Prophets.
And now abideth FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY; these three; but the greatest of these is CHARITY.

Which also poses the question to us, Who is our neighbor? a question also posed to Jesus in the book of Luke.
Luke 10:26-37 KJV
The answer is in verses 36, 37)
Which now of these, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed MERCY on him. Then Jesus said unto him, Go, and do likewise.

Jesus Christ is " The Banner over us. "
The Psalmist wrote
Psalms 60:4 KJV
Thou hast (given) a banner to [them] that fear thee, that it my be displayed because of the TRUTH.
And in The Song of Solomon 2:4 KJV
He brought me to the banqueting house, and HIS banner over me is LOVE.
John 4:8 KJV
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for GOD IS LOVE.
1 John 4:11 KJV
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to LOVE one another.
These are his commandments.

As far as religion is concerned, according to the Bible there is only One pure religion. Which follows the commandments of our Lord.
James 1:27 KJV
Pure Religion and undefiled  before God and the Father is this,
Visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction, and keep himself unspotted from the world.
The world being the things of the flesh.
1John 2:16 KJV
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is NOT of the Father, but is of the world.

When we keep our heart, and eyes, and soul fixed upon Jesus Christ, his banner is over us.
Do we still sin? Absolutely.
As long as we remain in this fleshly body, we will be tempted, because we are carnal.
Praise God, his mercy and Love, and grace is sufficient and through the Holy Spirit, pulls us back to a right mind set.
As Paul wrote, we battle against principalities, powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world, and Spiritual wickedness in high places.
But greater is he that is IN US, than he that is in the world.
All praise, honor, and glory to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ; where by his suffering we are free from the law and sin through his grace and our faith.
For it was the Law that made sin manifest.
It was by faith that Abraham was made righteous.
It was the lack of Faith that that wicked generation in the wilderness could NOT go in.
It is by Faith in the finished work of our Lord, that we can go into his presence.
The Vail is torn into, and we can now boldly go before the Most High, in the name of our High Priest Jesus Christ.

Thank you again for you letter.
God Bless You
