"Marx was almost completely wrong, but there are opiates and near opiates."

Hello, John and Doves,
Tramadol is a near opiate. As such, it gives you OIC.
Similarly, mental and spiritual opiates give you cons-[ulp]-tipation in those areas.
Politics and sports are today's American opiates.
What's the solution?
It is written,
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:1-2 ESV [from biblehub.com]
And what does that renewal entail?
It is written,
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Psalm 119:9 KJV [from biblehub.com]
Again, it is written,
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:11 NLT [from biblehub.com]
How exactly does that work?
It is written,
"This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds."
Hebrew's 10:16 NLT [from biblehub.com]
(Quoting Jeremiah 31:33)
And yet, we read,
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrew's 11:6 NIV [from biblehub.com]
It is a very good thing, then, that it is also written,
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
Romans 10:17 NLT [from biblehub.com]
