Some historical information that might
clear up any misunderstandings
as to who or what the ‘Little horn’
refers to in scripture.

The
‘Little Horn’ from the Western Roman Empire that caused the
Holocaust
Daniel’s vision of the
Fourth Kingdom: Imperial Roman
Empire
And
the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron,
inasmuch as iron
breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron
that crushes, that
kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others.
Whereas you saw the
feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly
of iron, the kingdom
shall be divided; yet the strength of
the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron
mixed with
ceramic clay. (Dan. 2:40–41)
This description is
of the Imperial Roman Empire that became Daniel’s fourth
kingdom:
27 BC–AD 476. It was divided into two administrative areas
called the Tetrarchy
in AD 285, by Emperor Diocletian (cf. Dan. 2:41
above); each part was ruled over by an Augustus and a Caesar
who had right of
succession. Thus, Roman rule was divided into the Latin west
and the Greek

1.The
western ‘half-territory’ was called
theWestern Roman
Empire
until it was invaded by Germanic and Barbarian tribes (foreign
clay) from the
north. Thus, toward its latter end the ironpopulationof
the Roman Empire
was overrun by foreign
clay people
groups whose
unintegrated influence mixed and mingled with the iron of
Rome, which eventually
caused Rome to fall. The last Roman Emperor, Romulus Augustus
was unseated/deposed
by Odoacer in AD
476, who
became the first King of Italy, thus
ending the Western Roman Empire.
As you saw iron mixed with
ceramic clay, they will
mingle with the seed of men; but they
will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix
with clay. (Dan. 2:43)
2.The
eastern ‘half-territory’ became the Eastern Roman Empire
or New Rome, (later
known as the Byzantine Empire).
Note: The
Roman Ensign was moved
from the Western Roman Empire capital by Constantine I (the
Great) in AD 330,
to found New Rome
in the ancient city
of Byzantium, (later called Constantinople), which became
the capital of the
Byzantine Empire.
The
eastern half
remained fairly stable (although diminished) for 1,000 years
from the Tetrarchy
in AD 285 until 1453, when it was conquered by the Turkic
Muslim armies led by
Mehmed I ‘the Conqueror’
who called
himself Kayser-i Rum (literally ‘Caesar of Rome’)
as heir to the Roman
Empire. He changed the name of Constantinople—the great
city—to Istanbul, and
the conquered eastern territories became known as the Ottoman
Empire (AD
1453–1922), which lasted for 470 years until defeated during
WWI by the Allies
(Entente powers). There was no heir apparent, and its
territories were divided
up to become Turkic, Arab and Muslim states.

vision of the Fourth
Beast: the ‘different’ Western Roman Empire
NOTE:After the Western Roman Emperor had been deposed by
Odoacer the leader
of the barbarian Germanic tribes in AD 476, the territories of
Western Rome disintegrated
into provinces, principalities and duchies etc., until in AD
800, Pope Leo III
crowned Charlemagne (King of the Franks) as Emperor, which
introduced the
concept of a renewed Roman Empire in Western and Central
Europe: including the
Kingdoms of Germany, Bohemia, Italy and Burgundy. This concept
became reality
when the Holy Roman Empire was officially instigated in AD 962
via the
coronation of the German King Otto I as Emperor, and
successive coronations
were based on Germanic Kingship…

After
this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth
beast, dreadful
and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron
teeth; it was
devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue
with its feet.
It was different
from all the beasts that
were before it, and it had ten
horns. (Dan.
7:7)
Then
I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast,
which was different
from all the others, exceedingly
dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its
nails of bronze, which
devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with
its feet; and the ten
horns that were on its head… (Dan.
7:19–20a)
The
fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which
shall be differentfrom
all other kingdoms, and shall devour
the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces.

Note: It is ONLY the western half of Daniel’s‘divided’fourth (IRON)
kingdom(Dan. 2:40–41 and 43
above),which
was differentto the others, which can be described as
thefourth
beast,dreadful
and terrible, exceedingly strongthat
trampled the residue[of the divided fourth kingdom] with its[armaments of]iron
teeth and bronze nails andfeet,[i.e., marching armies]whichdevoured the
whole earth, [subsequently, from 16–20th
Century,]breaking
the whole earth into

of the European nations that colonised the New World
were:Belgium,
Great Britain,
France, Portugal, Spain,
Germany, Italy,Netherlands
and Denmark.
Thus,
the fourth
beast/kingdom (Western
Roman
Empire in Europe) was very differentto
the preceding Babylonian, Media-Persian and Macedon-Grecian
beast kingdoms that
were each domiciled
in Asia and
Mesopotamia, for three major reasons:
Firstly, Western Rome expanded westward from the
Italian Peninsula into Europe,
Britain and North Africa, and into areas
surrounding the
Mediterranean Sea from AD 3rd Century;
Secondly, several sea-faring, exploring and
trading nations devolved from Western Rome
to ‘discover’ the New
World from the 15th
Century onward, that broke it up into colonial
sized pieces via their
continuously warring navies and armies!
Thirdly, Western Europe finally devolved into ten horn/nations:(i.e.,
a bloc of 10 historical European nations—nine of
which had reigning kings during the 1900’s—(that
could have been identified
in the 20th Century, had anyone looked
carefully!) (See Dan.
7:7, 20a, above, and 7:24 below) Monarchies

Many
of the
notable ‘10 horns/nations’ (see below) that devolved from
Western Rome
were formerly the same sea-faring and colonising European
sub-Empires,
which Daniel said were devouring,
breaking
in pieces,trampling
the
residue with its feet… and devouring the whole earth
(Dan. 7:7, 19, 23)
2.German
Empire (Second Reich 1871–1918), which was defeated in WWI.
3.The German Empire then became the
‘inter-war’ Weimar
Republic (1919–1933).
After
WWI ended, the League of Nationswas created in 1920
to prevent future wars, and a
bloc of 10
European nationsthat
had devolved from the Western
Roman
Empire, (i.e., from south of the Rhine and Danube
Rivers), became
‘founding members’ of the League
of Nations in 1920: they were Britain,
Netherlands, Belgium, France,
Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, and
Yugoslavia.
Note: This group of ‘ten horn nations’ (from western
Europe) that were ‘founding
members’ of the League of Nationshave been
‘hidden’ within the larger League for 100
years, and therefore these
ten ‘horn’ nations
have been
difficult to identify! They needed to exist in Western Roman
Europe south of
the Rhine and Danube Rivers, and had to belong to a
recognisable group to
qualify for Daniel’s description!
Later, in 1926,
the Weimar
Republic also joined
the League of Nations.
At that time,
only two very small parts of Germany existed within the old
Roman territories
(south of these two rivers), hence Germany was only a ‘little
horn’ compared to
the other ten ‘horn’ nations (above).

And
another shall rise after them; he shall be
different from the first
ones, and shall subdue three kings. (Retrospective
comment from Dan.
7: 24b)
I
was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a
little one, coming up
among them, before whom three of the first horns were
plucked out by the roots.
And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man,
and a mouth speaking
pompous words. (Dan. 7:8)
…and
the other horn which came up, before which three fell,
namely, that horn which
had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose
appearance was greater
than his fellows. (Dan. 7:20b)
The
ten horns are tenkings who shall arise
from this kingdom. And another
shall rise after them; he shall be
different from the first ones, and shall subdue
three kings. (Dan.
7:23–24)
4.After
the rise of Nazi Germany/Hitler’s (Third Reich) in 1933–1945),
‘the
little horn’(i.e.,
Hitler’s
Germany withdrew from the League of Nations in 1933
to rebuild the
German army before invading and annexing Austria (1938),
Czechoslovakia and
Poland (1939); these being the three ‘horns’ that were
subdued/plucked out
by the roots by the ‘little horn’ in Hitler’s attempt to
recreate the Holy
Roman Empire via Germany’s ‘Third Reich’ during
WWII (Dan.
7:8). What resulted was the Holocaust, causing the death of 6
million Jews, and
countless others:
Then the saints
shall be given into his hand for a
time and times and half a time. (Dan.
7:25b)
This
period of
time when Jews were helpless, has beenapplied
from when group gassings of Jews began on
December 8, 1941, until Germany surrendered on May 7, 1945, (covering 1247 days inclusive) or
three years and
five months (solar calendar years), equivalent to a time and
times and half a time.
Western
Rome and
its ‘little horn’s legacy’
finallycame to an
end on April 30, 1945 with
Hitler’s suicide, during the destruction of Berlin, while on May 7, 1945,
Nazi-Germany surrendered,
thus ending WWII in Europe. There was no heir to the ‘little
horn’ belonging to
the ‘dreadful and terrible’ Nazi Third Reich beast!
But
the court shall be seated, and they shall take away his
dominion, to consume
and destroy it forever. Then the kingdom and
dominion, and the greatness of
the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the
people, the Saints
of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and all dominions
shall serve and obey Him. (Dan. 7:26–27)
The
Nazi Reich
that was meant to last for 1,000 years only lasted for twelve!
God decreed that
the age of empires had ended! The fourth
kingdom in the east (Ottoman Empire) had been destroyed
during WWI, and the
fourth beast in the
west (Nazi
Germany and its ‘little horn’ had been destroyed during WWII; the divided Roman
Empire was no more!
The
two World Wars
had become the graveyard of empires, the last recognisable
pieces of the
divided Roman Empire had devolved into the age
of nation-states which began in 1920 with the formation
of the League of
Nations.Theend of empires was confirmed via the inauguration of the United Nations in
October 24, 1945!
Empires were no more!
With
the
declaration of the State
of Israel on
May 14, 1948, the end-time ‘generation’ had begun; now
we look forward to
the day when the verses below will become reality!
Then
the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the
kingdoms under the whole
heaven, shall be given to the people, the Saints of the
Most High. His kingdom
is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve
and obey Him. (Dan.
7:26–27)
