This is in reply to your 7/21 post Ezekiel 37. A Distinct Possibility (fivedoves.com) in which you stated the following:
"It could be a distinct possibility that Ezekiel 37 is also describing the last days resurrection of the dead. Recall that the rapture does not precede the resurrection of the dead. The resurrection of the dead has to come first. If this is the case, then I propose that Ezekiel 38 happens because Messiah Jesus has touched down in Jerusalem. His glorious arrival sets off the prophesied chain of events - i.e. the resurrection of the dead. Followed swiftly by the rapture. This is why the nations unite to attack Israel. They are coming against Christ, Himself. The biggest threat to their power over this world is Messiah Jesus, Himself. Recall that Gog is killed and given a grave in Jerusalem."
According to 1 Thess. 4:16-17, both the resurrected dead in Christ and those alive meet Him in the air and not on the ground. When His feet stand on the Mt. of Olives, according to Zech. 14:3-5 the mount of Olives splits in half, and all the saints return with Him.
1 Thess. 4:16-17, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Zechariah 14:3-5, "Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee."
