"Wormwood?"

Revelation 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
  11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

(This time, what comes down, falls, and is not cast?
So, does it move much slower, allowing it to be watched as it falls?
Is this an actual great star from heaven, not simply a meteor?
This is not like the previous, one, which was as a burning mountain?
What does, “as it were a lamp”, imply? Will it fall slowly, like a flare?
Will it be very bright, lightening up all the country, around, below it?
It says that it fell upon the third part of the rivers,
does that imply that this is possibly localized to one area?
Wouldn’t a third part of the rivers and fountains,
constitute a large area of one location?
Would this, then, require a wide diameter star?
Or will it break up upon entry,
scattering the pieces over an area,
large enough to affect a third of the rivers in that location?
Didn’t the previous plague affect the salt water in that sea,
by drastically turning it into actual blood?
But doesn’t this plague horribly affect the fresh water,
rivers and fountains, a full third of them,
and thus a number of people?
This star is called Wormwood,
does it already have its name as a star of heaven?
Or will it be named, when it is discovered heading towards earth,
like asteroids and comets are named?
Doesn’t the word wormwood means bitter?
For the seven times in the old testament, and twice in this line?
Are these plagues falling upon the area of Israel’s enemies?
Is it similar to when the LORD,
turned the rivers of Egypt to blood,
but Israel in Goshen was spared?)

Exodus 7:19 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.
  21 And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

(However, this time, the waters are not turned into blood,
but are they not, rather, made bitter?)

Genesis 16:7 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

Exodus 15:22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
  23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

Jeremiah 9:15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

(Are not bitter waters acrid, sharp, biting to the taste,
apparently nauseous, and in this case lethal to many?
Doesn’t it say that many men died of the waters,
because they were made bitter?
Do the men die due to a poisonous nature of the bitter water,
or because it says, “they were made bitter”,
that the bitter waters made the men bitter,
and that they then died of intense bitterness?
Do not the these three lines:)

Revelation 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.}
  9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.}
  10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

( go along with the rider on the black horse,
as it appears to be judgment upon the food supply:
vegetation, seafood, and fresh water?
This trumpet judgment hasn’t happened yet, but it may be soon,
so why do some connect it with past or current events?
When I went to Ukraine, thirty some years ago,
I heard that in the old Ukrainian Bible, not the Russian,
that the word for Wormwood was Chernobyl.
And since the Chernobyl meltdown occurred in Ukraine,
a little north of Kiev, many there thought,
that the radioactive poisoning of the fresh water,
was the fulfilment of this trumpet judgment.
Not all the Christians, there, think this, though.
This plague hasn’t happened yet,
so shouldn’t we be careful not to take headlines,
and try to make them fit into the book of Revelation?
Isn’t the book of Revelation more than a book of plagues,
or secrets about the future,
but is it not a revealing of Jesus,
given to him by the Father?
When the LORD revealed himself to Israel and Egypt,
in Exodus, didn’t that involve plagues and judgments?
So, when the children of Israel behold these plagues,
will they perhaps say, “This must be our God;
he did it like this for us when we were in Egypt,
and it looks like he is doing it for us again,
and only our God can do this”?
When these plagues help prepare the Jews,
for when Jesus returns,
and rescues them from the armies of the world,
will they then say something like the following?)

Isaiah 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
