Hello John and Doves,
July 1, 2020 is the anticipated date that the Israeli government could move to annex parts of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley. It's not a 'deadline - just a date that the government could take action. And, as of 27 June, no one knows what the government will do. PM Netanyahu "could bring the issues of the "application of sovereignty to hearings in the cabinet and the government, and for approval by the government and/or the Knesset."

There are many that oppose this annexation:
"...the armed wing of Hamas, Ezaddin al-Qassam, announced that the planned annexation would be considered a "declaration of war" on the Palestinians and threatened that Israel would "bite its fingers in remorse."

The U.N.'s Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, is encouraging Israel to "abandon" annexation plans of Jewish settlements in the West Bank. Saying this threatens the prospects of peace with Palestinians and would be a violation of international law.
The Al-Quds newspaper reported that pro-Palestinian military ground forces are preparing accordingly IF Israel goes through with this plan.
At this late date, some U.S. Members of Congress, and some senior Trump aides are 'rethinking' giving Israel the OK to do this. U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo said this is entirely Israel's decision to make. The American Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, is part of the joint Israeli-American committee working on mapping Israel's new borders.
The Arab League warned the United Nations of a 'religious' war if Israel follows through with this. The UN and the EU are also calling on Israel to stop this. "Israel seems determined to ignore that big red stop sign the international community erected to save lives..." https://www.timesofisrael.com/un-arab-league-urge-israel-to-abandon-annexation-plans-a-watershed-moment/

Over a thousand lawmakers across Europe oppose Israel's planned annexation....signing a statement expressing their 'worry'.
Seems even a few members of PM Netanyahu's party are getting cold feet and some members of the Blue&White Party are opposing this annexation. But it does appear that PM Netanyahu has the votes in the Knesset.
The leadership representing the settlements are concerned that this annexation would result in a Palestinian State right next door to them.
If the U.S. government butts in, even though they are the authors of this Middle East peace plan and have given their full support of this plan, and starts making demands on the voting (demanding the Blue&White Party support the annexation before it can happen - part of the coalition agreement signed by Netanyahu and Gantz stated Gantz and his party would have no veto vote over the sovereignty), this could become 'explosive', in more ways than one!
If Benny Gantz doesn't support the annexation plan, PM Netanyahu has threatened to dissolve the government/the Knesset and go to yet another round of elections, ridding himself of the shared government with Gantz.
PM Netanyahu sees this time as a "historic" opportunity...because the Trump administration is behind this and supports Israel - President Trump sees this land as vital to Israel's security and national identity. If Biden wins the 2020 presidential election, no annexation will take place during his administration. So, this is basically, a now or never chance. Those opposing annexation say, if Biden wins, they will already be on his 'wrong' side if this land is annexed.
The bottom line is : IF Israel does annex these areas, there will no longer be the possibility of a 'two-state solution based on the 1967 lines, with east Jerusalem as the future capital of a Palestinian state'.
So, will PM Netanyahu risk war to annex these lands? Some think he will not as he's shut down the economy of the country to keep COVID-19 deaths as low as possible..so why would he gamble on annexation? Bad timing with COVID-19. Yet his advisers are saying he is determined to do this - he wants this to be his legacy.
Mark your calendars! July 1 is the 9th of Tammuz.
On 9 Tammuz, the walls of Jerusalem were breached by Nebuchadnezzar - on his way to destroy the First Temple which occurred four weeks later; and then the Jewish people were taken to Babylon for the 70 years of captivity. It was declared a day of fasting and mourning.
If PM Netanyahu moves on this on July 1 or some time after (before the US elections), will it precipitate the prophesied Gog War? Will this 'annexation' be the 'hook in the jaw'? Some Bible prophecy students think so.
