Israel is the wife of God the church is the bride to be of Jesus, the son of God.
Israel was like the woman that God told the prophet Hosea to marry. Israel the Jews are married to God.
The church is betrothed to Jesus who consist of believing Jew and Gentile. Now in Christ there is no more Jew or Gentile,

28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
The church was birthed out of Jesus side when he was pierced as Eve was created from Adams side/rib when God put him in a deep sleep and created for him a mate.
Also the New Jerusalem is composed of all Jew and Gentile who have come to faith in Jesus and become one with him, Jesus Christ.
