"On Happiness, Contentment......ah, perspective....."

I am so thankful to God for the desire He has put in my heart over the years, to listen to GREAT Preachers...

On TV......and especially on the RADIO...

And I know my favorites, just by their voice.....after just a few words.....and I know then to stay tuned.

This morning, I caught David Jeremiah......and he shared 2 stories.  One I knew and one was new.....

This is the NEW one.   It was a poem....and I love the internet...you can search out ANYTHING...and as I thought, just the first few words of this poem, and there is was in full.

I have prayed for a number of years now..........Lord......help me.....give me the right PERSPECTIVE.

This poem is about perspective....it's about being HAPPY......in the MOMENT....NOW......

I hope this helps someone out there.....

It was spring, but it was summer I wanted,
the warm days, and the great outdoors.
It was summer, but it was fall I wanted,
the colorful leaves, and the cool, dry air.
It was autumn, but it was winter I wanted,
the beautiful snow, and the joy of the holiday season.
I was a child, but it was adulthood I wanted,
the freedom, and the respect.
I was twenty, but it was thirty I wanted,
to be mature, and sophisticated.
I was middle-aged, but it was thirty I wanted,
the youth, and the free spirit.
I was retired, but it was middle-age that I wanted,
the presence of mind, without limitations.
My life was over,
but I never got what I wanted.
The second story was from Rabbi Kushner....from his book "Bad things happen to good people."  I was another story on perspective.....but I will skip that for now......

But it reminded my of another story from Kushner's (spelling) book I read/listened to 28 years ago.....during one of my trial-periods in my life.  In that book he said "you know, no one ever wants to trade THEIR problems for someone else's.  The person who is missing a leg, doesn't want to trade places with a person who is missing a arm.  The person who is missing an arm doesn't want to trade places with a person who is blind.  The blind person doesn't want to trade places with a person who is missing a leg....and so on.

And that is SO true.

Ah....PERSPECTIVE.................................

So, in the midst of all the challenges of life.....at least for me.......I have almost always been able to say to God.....THANK YOU LORD....... for all You have done for me.....this day....this week, this year....and all of my life.  I am so glad YOU gave ME life...

-in the United States.....
-with the parents You have given to me....
-for the children You have given to me....for watching over them all of their days....and for honoring my prayers for them......ALL of their lives.....
-for the last 28 years in Florida......

and Lord......most importantly.....

THANK YOU FOR THE WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR ME.....ON THE CROSS.....TO TAKE AWAY MY SINS.....ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OF THEM.....  ALLLLLLL OF MY LIFE.

AND LORD....
THANK YOU....FOR LOVING.......ME........FIRST!

My trials over the last 30 years, have been (almost) as great as anyone's .......but......MY GOD has ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR ME......through it ALL...

YFIC,
RAndy
