My parents and I went to the Carmel Theater in 1959 to see this movie. I was only 9 years old, but the movie had a powerful effect upon me, and 20 years later in 1979 I received Jesus (Israel's long rejected Messiah) as my Lord and Savior, and I was born again. Soon after that I began teaching end time Bible prophecy. This is just the intro to the movie, and the entire movie can be found online. It is about a nuclear war that had happened in the northern hemisphere. The southern hemisphere had been spared, but it would only be a matter of time before the radiation crossed the equator and reached Australia, and that would be it for the remaining life on earth!
Zechariah 14:12 is a most interesting Scripture verse: "Now this will be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; THEIR FLESH WILL ROT WHILE THEY STAND ON THEIR FEET, AND THEIR EYES WILL ROT IN THEIR SOCKETS, AND THEIR TONGUE WILL ROT IN THEIR MOUTH." This is precisely what happens in a nuclear blast! This will occur after the upcoming Rapture toward the end of the 7 year Tribulation Period.
If you have not seen this movie before (Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner are awesome in it!), I believe it is well worth your time! Get out some popcorn for the movie too! For some reason I never tire of watching this movie, and I have seen it many times since 1959.

P.P.S. I would like to say something else here. Sadly a number of pastors steer away from end time Bible prophecy because they want people to believe that life will always go on as normal, and they don't want to get anyone upset! End time Scripture should not be ignored! We are now more than 75 years from Israel's inception as a nation (1948), and the final end time events are on our near horizon! Revelation 22:7 states, "And behold, I am coming quickly. BLESSED IS HE WHO HEEDS THE WORDS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK." And Revelation 1:3 states, "BLESSED IS HE WHO READS AND THOSE WHO HEAR THE WORDS OF THE PROPHECY, AND HEED THE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN IN IT; FOR THE TIME IS NEAR." Nuff said!
