Re: Garry B. REPLY TO: Greg Wilson ( 19 Dec 2021 ) Salvation

Garry:  I had made a considerable effort to provide you with biblical analysis and citations in response to your letter dated (12 Dec 2021) titled “We Have Not Yet Received Salvation”.   I believe your premise is wrong.  My letter supported the truth that we are saved becoming spiritually alive in Christ the moment we believe.  We are sealed with the Holy Spirit which the earnest promise of the redemption of our bodies. I cited these doctrinal truths.    My goal was to have you consider the analysis and citations which clearly contradict your premises.  However, once again, you have ignored my effort to share biblical truths with you. These are not my truths, but from the Scriptures.  There is a wise saying, “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”

In the past, I have suffered from my own biblical ignorance.  Presently, I am sure I still suffer ignorance in areas which I have not yet mastered.  We should prayerfully endeavor to never confuse our beliefs with knowledge or truth unless they have a firm and unambiguous foundation in Scripture.  I would say for me, one of the things which interferes with my learning is my higher education.  I had to unlearn so much to gain a more complete understanding of God’s words as recorded in the Scriptures of truth.  Truth is not for all men, but only those who seek it.  We, as members of the same body, the body of Christ, are directed by the Holy Spirit to lift up our other members.

It is a true saying that people generally accept facts as truth only if the facts agree with what they already believe.  We should all consider the possibility that the Lord is speaking to us through those who contribute to Fivedoves.  I am open minded and mature enough in my belief and faith to realize that I am always learning, always looking for nuggets from the Lord all the time.  I hope I have given you nuggets for your consideration in my letters to you.  His truth prevails.  Let it be our prayer that we may be humble enough to seek it and see it!

In Christ, Greg Wilson
