(The ark, “of which we cannot now speak particularly”, had three things put in it, after it was made:)
Hebrews 9:4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
(The ark was made after the pattern of the one that the LORD had in heaven:)
Exodus 25:9 According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.
Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Exodus 40:20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.
(Then is, putting the scriptures “in the side of the ark”, not the same as putting it in the ark,but perhaps similar to how song books are put on the back of a pew?)
Deuteronomy 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.
(By the time that the temple was built, were the pot of manna and Aaron’s rod no longer in the ark?)
I Kings 8:9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
(Was the last time that the scriptures record people seeing the ark, in the days of king Josiah?)
II Chronicles 35:3 And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,
(The ark was not mentioned with the other precious things that were taken by Nebuchadnezzar.)(Also, the ark is not mentioned as being in the second temple, either in the old testament or in the gospels.(Also, the ark is not mentioned as being in the temple that Ezekiel prophesied.)(There are various traditions about the ark being hidden, some even say by Jeremiah.)(These are only traditions, and even if mentioned in apocryphal writings, they are not mentioned in scriptures.)(There are two scriptures about the ark, which refer to the future:)
Jeremiah 3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
(I remember some claiming that the ark was taken to heaven, and that is what john saw in chapter 11.But wouldn’t the ark in heaven, that John saw, actually be the original ark, the one after whose pattern they made the one on earth?)
Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
(So, because of what Jeremiah prophesied about the ark not coming to mind or being remembered, and because Ezekiel didn’t prophesy of it, and because it wasn’t in the second temple, that perhaps the Jews are not considering finding the ark as a prerequisite for building the third temple? If so, then maybe we are the ones making more of the finding of the ark, then they are.Maybe, we got that more from watching Indiana Jones, then we did from the scriptures?)
