"REPLY TO GARRY B.-- GOG-MAGOG WAR & BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON"

In your 1/09 post GOG-MAGOG vs. ARMAGEDDON (fivedoves.com) you have shown why you think the battle of Gog-Magog takes place at the beginning of the Great Tribulation period of 1,260 days and why you think the Battle of Armageddon takes place at the end of the Great Tribulation period of 1,260 days while I believe that the Gog-Magog battle is part of the Battle of Armageddon.

As you know the woman (Israel) flees into the wilderness at the beginning of the Great Tribulation of 1,260 or 42 months according to Rev. 12:6 &14 because of being persecuted by Satan.  However, after the Gog-Magog war Ezekiel 39:11-12 says, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog. And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD." The house of Israel cannot be fleeing into the wilderness for 1,260 days or 42 months at the beginning of the Great Tribulation period if Israel is burying Gog and all his multitude for the first 7 months of the Great Tribulation period of 42 months. But it would be possible for the house of Israel to bury Gog and all his multitude for 7 months at the end of the Great Tribulation period of 42 months when they are no longer in the wilderness.

Also if the Gog-Magog war were to happen at the beginning of the 1,260 day or 42 month Great Tribulation period and Gog-Magog is defeated on the mountains of Israel, how is the Antichrist going to take over Jerusalem and rule from there and also set up his image (the image of the Beast) in the holy place of the Temple?

Also in Ezekiel 39:17-20, the Lord tells every feathered fowl and every beast of the field to assemble themselves together to eat the flesh and drink the blood of the men of war and their horses who died on the mountains of Israel in the war.  Then the Lord according to Ezekiel 39:21-22 says, "And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward." (These verses sound like the end of the Great Tribulation period when the Lord Jesus returns to earth because He is not going to be on earth during the Great Tribulation period according to Matthew 24:21-26.)  Rev. 19:17-19 also shows al the fowls in the midst of heaven being told to gather themselves together to eat the flesh of kings, captains, mighty men, and horses after the battle of Armageddon.

As for the Lord leaving a sixth part of Gog, please see the Hebrew interlinear Bible in regards to Ezekiel 39:2 which says nothing about leaving a sixth part of Gog at eze39.pdf (scripture4all.org) or at Ezekiel 39 Interlinear Bible (biblehub.com)

Also according to Ezekiel 38:18-20 there is going to be a great earthquake at the same time that Gog shall come against the land of Israel which results in the mountains being thrown down and all the men that are upon earth shall shake at the Lord's presence, and the steep places fall and ever wall shall fall to the ground.  If that were to happen at the beginning of the Great Tribulation period the Antichrist would be ruling from Jerusalem for 42 months and setting up his image to be worshipped in a city whose temple walls have fallen down along with all the walls in Jerusalem. Ezekiel 38:20 also says all the men that are upon the face of the earth shall shake at the Lord's presence. It sounds like the great earthquake that happens when the Lord returns with all His saints and His feet stand on the Mount of Olives with the Mount of Olives being thrown down in the middle into two parts (Zechariah 14:4-5.)  Also Rev. 16:18-20 shows us that all the cities fell and the mountains are not found when the great earthquake takes place just like all the walls falling down and the mountains are thrown down in the great earthquake of Ezekiel 38:18-20. I believe that the Gog-Magog war is part of the Battle of Armageddon when all the nations come against Israel.
