Brotherhood's coalition wins 38 percent of seats, hardline Islamist Nour Party wins 29 percent of list seats and the secular New Wafd and the Egyptian Bloc coalition came third and fourth respectively.

On Friday, Chairman of US Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust History Museum in Jerusalem. While there, Dempsey stated that the US will work together with Israel to make sure that such atrocities never happen again. He also wrote a similar message in the Yad Vashem guest book.
Palestinian officials say that they will resume their effort to gain U.N. membership, and that they could launch a nonviolent third intifada because they see no chance of reaching a peace deal with the current Israeli government. The Palestinians had put their U.N. bid on hold to participate in informal talks with Israel
