RE: Betelgeuse and the Wrath of God

Somebody posted a link about Betelgeuse that is going to explode before the end of this year. . I read Isaiah 30 and Amos 8 and was amazed by what I found. When Jesus is going to heal the breach of his people then the sun will be 7x as bright as normal and the moon will be as bright as the sun.  Isaiah says on the Day of the Lord the stars in the constellation will not give its light. Isaiah 13. But the Afrikaans Bible says the lights of the Orion will not give its light. This Betelgeuse is in the constellation of Orion. Ezekiel 32 verse 8: All the bright lights I will make dark over thee. This chapter explains the fall of Egypt by the sword of Babylon.  Any ideas from somebody?  Regards. Leigh, Australia.

Leigh,

That is an interesting reference to the constellation' in Isaiah 13.  The same Hebrew word is interpreted as Orion' in the book of Job, which is Strong's H3685.  It's spelling is Keciyl, pronounced as kes-seel'.  One alternate has it as Chesil.  What was interesting; it is the same word that is interpreted as a fool' elsewhere in the Bible (Ps. 49:11; Prov. 1:32; 10:1; etc.) like a brutish fellow.  Some have said that Orion is a representation of Christ in the heavens.  However, a study of the Hebrew word naming Orion the fool' makes that unlikely.  Orion is described as a hunter in its mythology, as was Nimrod a hunter in Genesis 10.  Although the Bible doesn't specifically say Nimrod built the tower of Babel, it was Nimrod's kingdom of Babel (10:10) that did.  I know when I was a kid, my mom called me Nimrod' when I did something stupid ;-\  The connection of the tower of Babel (tower to heaven) also has a connection with the towers in Egypt.

The root of Keciyl is H3688 or kacal, also meaning to be foolish or stupid' yet its primary root meaning appears to be referring to the loin or flank.  The ancients were fascinated with the bands of Orion' which is the three stars closely aligned in the middle loin area of Orion.  One theory about the placement of the Great Pyramids is their apparent alignment with the three main stars of Orion's belt, around his loins.  The star Betelgeuse is at the armpit or shoulder of Orion.

I'd previously known of the possibility of that star Betelgeuse going supernova.  If the event appears to the inhabitants of earth in the near future, it would have actually occurred centuries ago as it would have taken hundreds of years for the light and radiation of a supernova to reach us.  The description in Isaiah 13, especially 8-10 is very descriptive of what would happen should Betelgeuse or any other nearby star go supernova.  If it were in a particular orientation and phase, aiming at us, the gamma rays and x-rays would sterilize the earth (lay the land desolate).  Their faces [shall be as] flames' is descriptive of the radiation burns, causing intense pain and death (pangs and sorrows).  In Isaiah 13:13 He says He will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place.  If the earth were to be moved out of its place, axis pointing toward the sun, one hemisphere would have perpetual darkness or twilight, while the other would have perpetual daylight (seven' times as bright as normal).  This description in Isaiah is also similar to the one in Revelation describing the sun and moon giving 1/3rd of their light.  Coupled with a supernova on the dark side, it could shine bright enough to make the other stars invisible, just as described in the passage.

I am glad I will not be here.  I cannot imagine Jesus would allow His children that pain and destruction.  Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!!!

In Christ,

"[6] Howl ye; for the day of the LORD [is] at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. [7] Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: [8] And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces [shall be as] flames. [9] Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. [10] For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. [11] And I will punish the world for [their] evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. [12] I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. [13] Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger." - Isa 13:6-13 KJV
