"When do they gather them out?"

I had wondered something about one of the parables of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus gave this parable in Matthew 13:24-30, and later, his disciples asked him to declare this parable to them, in Matthew 13:36-43.

Matthew 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

  38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

  39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

  40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

  41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

  42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

  43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Even though Jesus mentions, "children of the kingdom", and "his kingdom", I had been taught, and even thought, that Jesus meant the church age.
But, in the epistles, we are called the children of God, rather than the children of the kingdom:

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

So, is this parable speaking about the church age, or during the kingdom, the thousand year kingdom?
When it says, "they shall gather out of his kingdom", when do they do that?
Do the angels gather tares out of churches before the blessed hope?
Or, do the angels gather them out of the assemblies of tribulation saints, particularly amongst the Jewish believers, at the end of the tribulation?
Or, do the angels gather them out of the kingdom, at the time when the devil is released from the bottomless pit?
