Those are all really good questions.  

 

I have thought about a life like robot with a very advanced AI/super computer...but no one can give 'life/breath' to a robot.

 

Except the second beast is given the ability to give breath/life unto the image of the beast.

 

I think for humans, this would/should be frightening.

 

The 'image' that is made by humans could be 'possessed' by an evil spirit.  Yet, we aren't told that in The Revelation. 

 

It seems it's only job is to "cause those who don't worship it to be killed".  People are suppose to worship the image not the beast.  So it's got to be something pretty fantastical.

 

My brain can't really latch on to what this 'image' (can be translated 'statue') is.  It's pretty evil in its purpose.  

 

And how does the 'image' 'cause' the people to be killed (to slay/to put to death)?  Does it kill the people itself? Do other people kill them?  And how are they killed?  Does it shoot out some sort of death ray or DEW?  Are they beheaded?

 

And then - there are pictures of angels that are taken from actual Bible scripture - people have tried to 'capture' their image:  Very bizarre looking.  They have some humanness to them - with the head/face of a man and eyeballs.  We don't quite know what the image to the beast will be - an exact likeness or similar?
