"President Trump's Statement On The Drones - Only Deepens the Mystery"

Hello John and Doves,

The MSM is reporting that "the mystery behind the New Jersey drone sightings has been solved."  Nothing to see here, move on.

Every major and local news agency was reporting on these mystery drones back in December, 2024.  Lots of people were riled up about the 'no answers' from the Biden administration.

Lots of people got involved from state governors to senators like Schumer to local police departments, to state patrol, to airports, to cites and towns, private citizens, to the FBI, DHS, the DoD, the FAA, etc..  Seems everyone was wanting to find out who owned these and what was their mission.  And why couldn't the Biden administration identify these?  The sightings continued and the mystery deepened.

And then, President Trump's White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told everyone that President Trump released a statement on the drones:  "After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons.  Many of these drones were also hobbyists, recreational and private individuals that enjoy flying drones,"  she added.  "In time, it got worse due to curiosity.  This was not the enemy."
Mystery drones seen across U.S. were authorized by FAA, White House says

And why did the FAA spokesman, when asked why the FAA didn't say something way back, he referred the question to the White House.  It's the FAA that knows and enforces the rules for small unmanned aircraft systems - drones.  They should be answering questions from the press.

I have yet to come across a friend or acquaintance that believes that this solves the mystery.  In fact, the mystery only deepens.

So why did the FAA keep this secret?  Especially after THEY shut down the skies over sections of New Jersey and New York - creating no fly zones over critical areas.  And why was Picatinny Arsenal's air space temporarily closed.  "Out of an abundance of caution."  Caution for what??  And why didn't the FAA report that they identified some of the drones - or even one drone!  Or that they issued fines for violations?  Nada.  Nothing.  Drones over half a pound are required to be registered with the FAA and the drone's registration number displayed on the exterior surface.

And why were hundreds of drones allowed by the FAA to break FAA drone rules?  Some flew above 400 feet.  Not keeping your drone in sight (required visual line of sight).  Not keeping lights on at all times when flying at night. Not flying in restricted airspace - airports shut down because of this drone activity.

Were the drones filming anything, collecting news?  Did the operators have drone pilot certificates that allows them to capture video digitally or gather news?  Did they FAA authorize their flights at Picatinny Arsenal - that had to shut down its airspace because of drone sightings over multiple days.  Flying over people houses can pose a safety risk yet nothing was done about drones hovering for hours over people's houses.

Every drone requires a radio link between the transmitter/radio and receiver on the drone.  "All drone pilots who are required to register or have reigstered their drone must operate in accordance with the rule on Remote ID.  Remote ID is the ability of a drone in flight to provide identification and location information that can be received by other parties through a broadcast signal."  "Remote ID also helps the FAA, law enforcement and other federal agencies locate the control station when a drone appears to be flying in an unsafe matter or where it is not allowed to fly."
Everything You Need To Know About ELRS — Pyrodrone

I have read through dozens of news articles about these mystery drones and I did not once come across any drone Remote IDs reported by the FAA.  Did they even try to ID these mystery drones?  Especially the ones that shut down airports and the arsenal??

This just doesn't add up and many people see this as another government cover.  Maybe President Trump was not told the truth or maybe he was told the truth and he too is covering it up.  It sure looks like the FAA is the scapegoat and is taking the fall for this...whatever this is.

And what about the cost of these 'FAA authorized mystery drones'?  Police departments got involved.  State Patrol got involved.  The FBI got involved.  Senator Schumer got anti-drone equipment sent to New York - how much did that cost?  Lots of LE departments purchased anti-drone equipment.  DHS, FAA, DoD got involved. Drone experts were called in.  All of this adds up $$ - was millions of dollars put into finding out more about these drones? And add all of the TV/radio time!   All for the FAA to say 'we authorized these - for research'.   After the FAA had set up no fly zones in New Jersey and New York!!

Not buying it.  I don't think the FAA is that incompetent.

The FAA Authorized the Mystery Drones:

"A week after taking office, President Trump said in a statement that the thousands of drones that were seen over the skies of New Jersey were not from foreign adversaries, but were instead authorized by the FAA."

"That statement raised numerous questions about why the FAA did not tell the FBI and law enforcement officers that the flights had been authorized by them...".

Karolin Leavitt read President Trump's statement:  "The drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by FAA for research and various other reasons...this was not the enemy."

"When asked why the FAA never revealed it authorized the drones to fly for research purposes, FAA spokesman Christopher Mullooly on Tuesday referred the matter to the White House for its official statement.  he added for background that the FAA's role is to ensure drones operate safely within the broader national Airspace System and said it is legal to operate drones under 400 feet while complying with all rules, including avoiding restricted airspace and other aircraft."

"The FAA never admitted during the uproar about drones last year that they had authorized the flights."

Drones over NJ: Here’s what we know after Trump’s statement

What We Know:

Many drones were not operated under 400 feet - violation.

Drones were noted to turn off their lights at night - violation.

Drones flew over airports and airports had to shut down - violation.

Drones flew over multiple military bases on the East Coast - the bases shut down their airspace - violation.

Drones penetrated the air space of a nuclear facility.

(At the same time, drones invaded the air space of four U.S./U.K. air bases in the U.K.  Intrusions were well coordinated. Anti-drone technology/jamming had no effect on the drones and they could not be tracked.)

The FAA, DHS, FBI, etc dispatched advanced detection technology to Picatinny Arsenal and Naval Weapons Station Earl in New Jersey - to detect, track and monitor drone activity.

The FAA did not report any info on drone ID - the Remote ID; many drones violated the FAA rules, in fact, the FAA reported nothing about any Remote IDs.  Not a peep from the FAA.  Did they even check for signals??

There was millions of dollars - state and federal - put into to trying to identify these drones.  DHS Secretary Mayorkas said "the federal government deployed additional resources, personnel, technology to assist the state police in tracking down the drones to help allay resident fears over the drones, he never said the drones were authorized by the FAA."

Senator Church Schumer secured anti-drone equipment to be shipped to New York.

Local police, State Police, and FBI were involved.  "The FBI launched an investigation into the drone sightings after the New Jersey State Police reported seeing a large drone in the sky."  The Office of Homeland Security got involved.

No fly zones/temporary flight restrictions were set up over New Jersey and New York.

Multiple news stations sent out reporters to investigate.  Dozens of hours of TV time was spent on these drones.

And what about all the concerns the public, governors, mayors, senators, etc. had about these mystery SUV sized drones.

"Middletown Mayor Tony Perry told Fox News on Tuesday that local leaders were promised additional information "soon" from the White House, but he did not have a date that would occur."

"Residents of New Jersey were subjected to weeks of fear and uncertainty, with no clear communication on or explanation at the time, " Sheriff Golden said.  "For the FAA to now claim this was for 'research' shows a complete disregard for the trust and safety of our communities."

Drones over NJ: Here’s what we know after Trump’s statement

The Cost of These Investigations and TV News:

How many millions were spent on investigating these drones?  And all of the news coverage!  Hundreds of hours a week by TV/radio - MSM and local.  Just for the FAA to claim - "Oh, yah - we authorized these.  They are doing 'research'.

What research would require dozens of drones, night after night, to hover over people's homes for hours? Float for hours over reservoirs?  Cause airports to shut down flights?  Cause military bases to close their air space?

What was 'the research'?  Americans don't trust their government - especially the previous one.  And not all of the previous one is gone!!

This is certainly only part of the story - it looks like FAA did approve these and then stood down - but whose are they and why?

A Test Corridor for Drones Was Announced in 2023 for New Jersey:

Then there is this article from June 1, 2023.  It was a project made known to the public that involves the FAA, the DoD and other agencies.

"An agreement to create a test and evaluation corridor for the development of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and automated Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technologies was recently signed by officials representing U.S. Transportation Command, Air Mobility Command, National Aerospace Research & Technology Park and the Atlantic County Economic Alliance....the corridor between Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey and Dover AFB in Delaware...The 'designated' airspace was a "dual use" corridor for launching and landing of civilian craft from non-DOD sites within the corridor....Many of the tests and experiments would only be possible with a dedicated corridor."  The corridor was for "demonstration, development, and evaluation of military, commercial, academic and Federal Government UAS and AAM technologies with future application to strategic airlift capabilities of the U.S. Air Force."  Congress funded this.  It's a "significant step forward in the evolution of an Aviation Research Triangle in New Jersey.
NARTP Signs Cooperative Research and Development Agreement With USTRANSCOM, USAF Air Mobility Command, and ACEA

This project wasn't a secret.  So does this have anything to do with the mystery drones?  Shouldn't have been a problem saying these drones were part of this already publicly announced program.

Robotic Drones Project to Counter WMD 2024:

And this article published December 12, 2024: "A US military installation in New Jersey - one of the sites where mystery drone sightings have been reported - has been helping develop robotic drones that can counter weapons of mass destruction, the Post has learned."  The US Army's R & D center located at Picatinny arsenal "awarded a Maryland company a $50 million contract to develop robotic drones."

"The drones can produce three-dimensional maps of urban areas and engage in surveillance..."  "...a spokesman for the Picatinny Arsenal said the limitary installation has nothing to do with the recent drone activity over the state.....we can confirm that they are not the result of any Picatinny Arsenal-related activities..."

"As a highly secure facility that develops and tests new bombs, guns and ammunition and warfare devices for all branches of the military, it is a target for espionage by foreign adversaries....Overall the arsenal supplies 90 percent of the Army's "lethality" and all conventional ammunition and employs 4,500 people, according to the site."

"A spokesperson for the tech company behind the robotic drones told The Post Thursday that its contract with the military ended in 2023."

Exclusive | Picatinny Arsenal also developed drones to counter WMDs

So, what is the drone 'research' President Trump mentioned?  Did this project really end?  Did another one start that wasn't made public?  Or do they have the drones from these projects and have been flying them - what is their mission?  The above article said drones were being developed that can 'counter weapons of mass destruction'.  That could be nuclear, biological, chemical...

FAA No Fly Zones:

And to help solve the drone mystery, it was the FAA that set up the temporary bans in parts of New Jersey and New York:  "The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ban on drone operations in dozens of areas of New Jersey and New York until mid-January....At the request of federal security partners, the FAA published 22 Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) prohibiting drone flights over critical New Jersey infrastructure," the FAA said in a statement Thursday."

"A Department of Homeland Security spokesman said the flight restrictions were issued "out of an abundance of caution."  Picatinny Arsenal had a temporary flight restriction.

And, "..out of an abundance of caution, the FAA has issued temporary flight restrictions over some critical infrastructure facilities in New Jersey."

The FAA said that if anyone fails to abide by these restrictions "it could take administration action, including civil penalties and suspending or revoking the operators' certificates, as well as pursuing criminal charges."
FAA temporarily bans drones in parts of New Jersey, New York adds flight restrictions - ABC News

So the FAA is now telling us that these mystery drones were authorized by them...and then they banned them from flying in certain areas of NJ and NY, threatening criminal charges.  And didn't tell the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the New Jersey State Police, the New York State Police, etc.  Hmmmm.

It looks like the FAA was clueless also about these mystery drones but have now been made 'the fall guy' for the conspiracy theories....They obviously weren't doing their job obtaining the Remote ID information from any of these drones and reporting this. So I wonder if the drones had any emitters on them at all.  Or the FAA wasn't looking...

The government changed their story from "these are all manned small aircraft" that the public is seeing to "lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and stars mistakenly reported as drones..."

It seems there may be more information coming from the White House about these drones.  Maybe something about the 'research'?

For now, many just aren't buying the Trump/FAA explanation.

'Why didn't the FAA tell us way back when...instead of waiting until now when even they were trying to figure this out.'
