Pentecost began the Church Age or Age of Pentecost, a day which continues today as God fills new believers in Christ.  Then, at the appointed time, the Lord will descend with a shout and assemble the dead and living in Christ and take them away, the Great Departure. (1 Cor. 15:52; 1Thess. 4:17) This event will terminate the Age of Pentecost as God will have completed his two-part promise, deposit of the Holy Spirt as an earnest deposit against the future redemption of our bodies. (Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:19)

We do not know the exact “day and hour”, but we are charged to know the Season, the signs of the times. (Matthew 16:3)   Jesus chastised the religious rulers for willful ignorance of the signs of His coming.  We are not ignorant.  We see the day approaching.  We live in “gathering times”. (2 Thessalonians 2:1)

Notes:

1 and 2 are Pilgrimage feasts. (Exodus 23:14-17)  This is important because the three orders of the First Resurrection are associated with pilgrimage feasts. (1 Corinthians 15:20-24)  Christ, the First Fruits on festival of FF during Feast of Unleavened Bread, Christ’s own on Pentecost and then comes the end when Tribulation saints raised on Tabernacles following Second Advent. (Revelation 20:4-5)  The third pilgrimage feast is Tabernacles or Sukkot.  All of God’s seven festivals are “moedim” or appointed times, but only three are “chagim” or pilgrimage feasts.  This a critical distinction which should be known.
