#1 DUMB THEORIES

“STUDY to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the Word of truth,”  2 Timothy 2:15.

INTRODUCTION

The title and the text Scripture says it all…!

This is the subject matter I will be dealing with in this series of studies.  I have never previously seen such false teaching in the churches and the ranks of Christianity, as I am seeing today, and even as Jude exhorted, I think it is past time for true believers to “contend earnestyly for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints,” Jude 3.

 THE DENIAL OF THE TRINITY…….

There are many today in the ranks of Christianity who deny the Trinity of the Godhead, and are teaching and preaching  their denials to others as being Scriptural truth. Such claims are not Scriptural truth, and if these false teachers don’t know it, they should STUDY more, and run their mouths less.  The truth of the Trinity is set forth over and over in God’s Word in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.  Proof?  Gladly!

We are told in Acts 15:18, “Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world.”

    God the Father planned.

God the Son carried out His Father’s plan.

God the Holy Spirit energized or gave life to the whole creation.

Genesis 1:1 records the creation of the heavens and the earth,  “In the beginning God  created the heaven and the earth.”

Dear readers, think about this statement…  Which person in the Godhead was it who created the heavens and earth?  The answer to this question is found in John 1:1-3,

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Wprd was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.”

In these inspired Scriptures it is clearly stated that the Word was with God, and that the Word was God!  Now who is the Word which is being spoken about in these Scriptures?  My Bible says that the Word is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ.  Read the words of the Lord Jesus which He spoke to His church in Revelation 3:14.  Did Christ Jesus “lie” about being the beginning of the creation of God, as clearly stated in John 1:1-3?  No! Of course not! Christ Jesus did not lie!  He was with Father God in the beginning, and carried out the plan of His Heavenly Father’ creating all things according  to the Father’s plans and will.   Christ Himself is God, and the Creator of all things.

But let’s not leave out the Holy Spirit of God.  He worked in the creation also.

      In Genesis 1:26 we read,

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Now since only God existed in eternity past, who was He speaking to, when He said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…”?  He obviously was not speaking to Himself when He said “let us.”  So who was He speaking to?  Obviously He was speaking to Jesus,  and to the Holy Spirit; the second and third persons in the Godhead.  Read Matthew 28:19.

In Isaiah 9:6 is a prophecy about the birth and coming of Christ Jesus, born into the world as a true human heing.  Being born into this world as a man, did not take away His diety, but only clothed him in flesh in order to become our Redeemer.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”

This inspired Scripture states clearly that two of the names by which the Lord Jesus Christ will be called, are “the Mighty God” and “the Everlasting Father.”  True believers recognize Christ today as “the Mighty  God,” but after the presently unbelieving Jewish people turn to and receive the Lord Jesus with all their heart and soul, Joel 2:12-13; Amos 8:10; Zechariah 12:10-14, they will acknowledge Him as their  everlasting Father..” This Scripture is absolute PROOF that Jesus Christ was, and is, God incarnate. Yes, He was resurrected and receive a “glorified” body, but He still retains His humanity in behalf of us humans.  Read it for yourself in  1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:12-15.

In Titus 2:11-15, we are told that Grace teaches us true believers, among other things mentioned, to be “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”  Notice that in our KJV English Bible, but also in the Greek text, there is no comma between “God and our Saviour.”  The entire expression is the name or title of the Lord Jesus Christ, whom we believers are to be looking for.   The expression clearly states that our Savior is also the great God.  Now could it be stated any plainer that the Lord Jesus is also God?  Therefore He is also rhe Second Person in the Godhead.  Glory to God!

As a “glorified” man in Heaven, He reaches out to mankind here on the earth, but He also reaches out to the Heavenly Father to intercede for us believers when we do those things which are not pleasing to Father God.  .  Oh, glory to God.

Yet Jesus Himself, while in the flesh BEFORE His resurrection, prayed to His Father in Heaven, and even taught His disciples to do likewise, Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2; Matthew 26:36-39.  So we definitely find Scriptural PROOF that the Lord Jesus is “the Son of Man” while also being “the Son of God.”

But let’s not overlook the Holy Spirit of God, Who is the third Person in the Triune Godhead, and the One who imparts LIFE to the seeking believer.

In the Garden of Eden, it was Christ Jesus who formed the body of Adam, Genesis 1:26-27; John 1:1-3; Genesis 2:7.  But after forming Adam’s body, the Lord God “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”  Now Who is it that gives life to the new soul created by the Lord in every true believer today?  The Holy Spirit!

The Lord Himself told Nicodemus, “Except a man be born of water [the natural birth] and of the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God,” John 3:5.  It is the Holy Spirit which imparts the eternal life which the Lord God has created for those who love Him.  Praise the Lord!

It is the Holy Spirit who places “the fruit of the Spirit within the true believer’s heart and soul, Galatians 5:22.

It is the Holy Spirit which comforts God’s people in the absence of Chtrist, our Savior, John 16:7.

It is the Holy Spirit which convicts lost souls of their sins and makes it possible for people to be saved.

It is the Holy Spirit which then guides the true believer into the great truths of the Word of God, and imparts understanding of those truths to us, John 16:13

The Holy Spirit is mentioned over and over in the New Testament in Scriptures which make it clear that He is the third person in the Triune Godhead.

Three persons in the Godhead but only one Divine God, for those three persons are perfectly agreed as One in unity and purpose of the work of God which they are carrying out.

Then to deny the reality of the Trinity of God is just one of many DUMB THEORIES which are being taught today.  Dear readers, be very careful who you are listening to, and make certain that which you are hearing is the actual, literal, truth of the Word of God.

Dear readers, you have my message!  I pray iit will be enlightening and helpful to every readers,, in the sweet and holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
