Glad you asked.  Hitler had a team go there to excavate the Temple of Diana in Pergamos or Seat of Satan.  He brought it back to Germany.  To note,

if you watched the Democratic Convention when Obama won it during his first term, the Convention was held in Denver, CO.  A replica of the Temple was built there for the background.  The pillars you saw and such was a replica of the Seat of Satan.   Now, when Obama gave a prolific speech in Germany, he stood in front of the actual excavated Temple of Diana, the Seat of Satan.  

Now, President Trump's family comes from Bavaria or modern Germany. His grandfather migrated here and eventually found his way to NYC. So there is much connection to Germany.  Hmm. That's all I can say.
