Would the purpose for the tribulation change depending on one's view of prophecy?

Wouldn't these 7, below, follow the logic of their doctrines, rather than what they may actually claim on their websites?

preterists		the tribulation happened in 70 AD, a judgment on Israel, and historical value only, for Christians today?
post-millennial		the tribulation is allegorical, of practical value?
amillennial		(with replacement theology) the tribulation is to purify the Christians?
pre-millennial:
	post-trib	the tribulation is to ready both Israel and the Christians for the kingdom?
	pre-wrath	the tribulation is to ready the Christians for the blessed hope, and then afterwards to judge the world?
	mid-trib	the tribulation is to ready the Christians for the blessed hope, and then afterwards to ready Israel for the kingdom?
	pre-trib	the tribulation is to prepare Israel for their true Messiah, Jesus?
